The great fallout in AQ40 on pservers wasn’t because of the guys who run it constantly creating new fresh servers to pull the playerbase away, or the content and time investment around the raids being difficult.
It was all the black lotus mafia. Stockpiling lotus from launch to bleed the casuals dry when they needed it.
Susan used her billions of dollars from gold sales to buy majority actiblizz stock and now has control of the company.
It’s why blizz doesn’t ban bots or gold buyers/sellers.
It’s mostly because the asset creators were doing so much stuff that the systems and gameplay design teams were unable to keep up with their side of the content pipeline. (corroborated by John Staats and Kevin Jordan)
Actually, this is because there are literally no JUST “idea guys” left at blizzard. Everything is being handled by developers that run back and forth between different departments or take on multiple hats. (said by Kevin Jordan)
It’s called “job title consolidation”.
I’d say this is effectively true but the reason it’s a problem is the larger server capacity. It would still be a problem if the server caps were still 2000 but having them up where it is right now has made the problem worse. in essence it’s a scaling problem that they are unable to fix due to not wanting gameplay effecting changes.
