I was wondering if anyone could tell me how big the classic client is and whether it uses all of its own assets or shares some with retail.

It’s about 5GB
It has its own assets.
Meaning, you can install only Classic and not install modern WoW.

This thread made me go check again and something seems to have changed. My classic folder used to be 4.7GB its now 169mb… ummm what did Blizzard do? lol
Shared data folder.
If you installed just classic the data folder should be about 5 GB. If you also have retail installed then your data folder will be larger.
The _classic_ folder only has the client programs and folders for user data (ie addons , addon settings , screenshots etc)
So then it uses the main game’s (_retail_) assets?
