Feels a lot like what people claimed Wrath RDF leveling was like. Decent amount of folks in the world. The overhaul to XP and quests allows for quick yet immersive adventures through Azeroth with queues in between. It’s definitely a nice change of pace compared to the grind of old.
I almost always avoid the 1-60 zones in retail; these are actually very nice to play through pre leveling scaling.
I have all the XP boosts and even if I don’t do any dungeons, I’ve outleveled the quests before finishing a zone. This wouldn’t be a problem, but all the zones are incredibly linear storylines and leaving them unfinished feels bad.
That’s an interesting perspective. It feels like having cheatmode on to me. Which is maybe kind of nice to an extent, but only really to the extent that having a cheatmode toggle would be nice.
I personally don’t really feel like there’s enough of any meaningful difference between Cata and Retail other than GDKP for me to prefer one over the other. Perhaps I would if I played Retail more or will after playing through Cata more. We’ll see!
Polar opposite games tbh. My mage has half the bindings on cata he does on Dragonflight. In Wrath everybody was already OP, but leveled through the old world. Cata really isn’t much different from wrath leveling it’s just more story orientated.
I agree.
I took my heirlooms off so I could fully experience Ashenvale orc vs ne lore again.
The lower levels do go waaaaay to fast if you’re actually playing it for the story/lore dumps
I think level scaling actually lets you enjoy the world/quests more if that’s what you want to do.
With Chromie Time you can level in zones for a much larger level range, so you can happily complete your story lines without worrying about leveling out of the bracket too quickly but still level quickly overall.
Scaling lets you focus on areas you enjoy without having to go to Outland or something you’d rather not repeat.
