The resource has been updated as of today with the exciting approach of Zul’Gurub which will launch next month. I usually sway away from doing these types of posts not only here, but as well as Reddit for a resource such as this. However, Phase 4 is a fairly impactful patch for the spec.
It’s a powerful tool which will go over many heads and many others won’t be able to utilize due to the lacking capability of not having Microsoft Excel. For the finite group of birds out there that are hoping to make a bit more of a resounding presence in their raids with the ability to reach Spell Hit cap in Phase 4. I invite you to explore and investigate the spreadsheet to optimize your play.
It was made for you. The players who must go the extra mile and willing to do so. You know as well as I do that we’ll never compete consistently, but you know you must do your absolute best regardless. Enjoy!

Nice! Glad stat weights are actually being calculated directly. It is unfortunate that there is not Arcane-specific debuff for you guys outside of the Warlock CoS.
awesome post dude.
We need more people like you in the community.
Thanks for the sheet man!
I find I tend to get more DPS with using wrath more often. Assuming I am not optimizing for arcane damage, and casting star following a crit, is there any reason wrath would not be better?
Long story short, curse of shadows.

Outside of Stormstrike, there are no Nature-focused debuffs, and Stormstrike simply isn’t up enough to even try to weave in Wraths anyway.
In other words:
If I recall i read awhile ago that the base nature resistance is lower on mobs for this reason. I might be remembering it wrong obviously.
It’s true. Wrath scales better with spell power, but as others have pointed out there are better modifiers for Starfire. Curse of Shadow just isn’t a 10% damage boost, but its a 75 Spell Pen modifier as well.
As for mobs and their resistances. I’ve slowly, ever so slowly, been collecting data via my own parses to try and evaluate or at least estimate a rough resistance level of each boss in raids. What I really need is someone to write a script that can scrub WCL and do some math to determine what is a 25/50/75/100 resist hit from the norm.
Essentially. I need a large sample size of hits to determine a good value of resistances. From there we can develop a more Wrath and/or Arcane base style of game play for Balance Druid.
Not just the modifiers either. Starfire can actually make use of Nature’s Grace. Wrath gains nothing from it.

For the future, since I more than likely won’t make another update on a Blizz or Reddit forum post about this resource again. Here is the permanent home for the sheet updates: https://forum.classicwow.live/topic/726/by-the-great-winds-i-come-classic-balance-druid-theorycraft-spreadsheet-v1-5
