Classes with most APM right now?

Planning on shelving my UH DK that i’ve played since MoP for a new dps spec until next expac.
i kind of want the most “flashy” and fast spect there is right now.
Any suggestions ?

COMMENTARY: Monk typically always is on the top of APM with Demon Hunter being on the bottom.

I would have said Sub rogue but sometimes you’re out of energy… for monk you have an out of energy buttons you can press.

WW Monk requires high APM to activate their mastery so you might like that.

Yeah, im done of “no action” moments.

DK is filled with those.

Commentary: Yes then definitely WW monk.

What about Enha Shaman after the 9.2 Rework ?
Havent played it since Legion.

I wouldn’t have said that monk has a high APM… Especially with fist of fury being a relatively long channel. DH on the other hand has a very high APM… you’ll just be hitting the same action on repeat across the minute.

Monk - less APM, more complexity
DH - more APM, less complexity

Here’s a log of a mythic skollex fight: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/CpZHDhjMkc8mNPzt#fight=26&type=casts

The greater the number of casts the higher the APM.

No offense, but how? I’ve been maining an UH DK this expansion. I don’t feel like I ever get a break.

ENH is kind of cool almost like 2 different versions: fire and lightning.

BM hunter you are constantly pressing something. There’s no cast times so you are always fighting the GCD rather than castbars.

Here’s another log: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/CpZHDhjMkc8mNPzt#fight=23&type=casts

Looks like either Sub rogue, Havoc DH, or Fury Warr if you’re trying to maximize APM.

Chrishardwic is also correct in that BM hunters always have something to press.

Fury warrior induced carpel tunnel last expansion. As far as I know its almost always about as high as you can go on the APM regardless of build.

MOCKERY: The class with 18 buttons compared to everyone’s 30+ isn’t high APM… I’m sorry.

Maybe if you don’t take Demon’s blade and think spamming Demons bite while you wait for abilities to come up is entertaining

APM =/= complexity

APM = Actions per minute

In other words it’s button presses per minute. A class that requires you to spam 1 key 300 times per minute to be optimal is a 300 APM class. Where as a class that requires that you perfectly prioritize a 60 button rotation pressed 1 button per second to be optimal is a 60 APM class.

The OP asked for high APM, not complexity. Monk is not a high APM class, but yes it is very complex.

Edit: FYI, I have a WW monk and I loved it when I still played retail at the start of SL. I’m not saying it’s a bad class or that it isn’t fun. Just saying that they asked for high APM. Monk isn’t that.

MOCKERY: This is just Factually incorrect…

With this logic you’re implying classic Fire Mage is higher APM than Ret Paladin.

The classes where you’re spamming the same button for 2-5 seconds diminished it’s APM yield… this is why

No one calls Evelynn in league of legends high APM despite the fact she spams Q on CD

EXTENDED MOCKERY: ALSO if you take Demon’s Blades DH " spam this button for 4 seconds" mechanic is virtually removed.

I like how you’re mocking someone while RPing on the forums, while also being incorrect.

This place is so sad sometimes

There’s no logic to imply here… APM is a clearly defined term. Actions per minute. So how many actions do you take… per minute.

Actions/minute

Do I have to break down the math for you?

Then you’re describing something entirely different. Because if she has more actions per minute than other champions, then she factually is a higher APM class.

Again, APM =/= complexity.

STATEMENT: Okay go tell a league of legends player that Evelynn is a higher APM character than Vayne or Kalista because Evelyn plays like
E QQQQQQQQQQQQQ WE

It’s literally one of the biggest problem with this forum.

Some cringe roleplayer could argue with you over the definition of Action per Minute, it could test your self restrain sometime.

APM doesn’t mean anything and doesn’t imply hard. You could have a spec that types out the alphabet like some DDR game, but that doesn’t make it any more skillful than one that uses seven buttons.

It’s your choice though and if you enjoy carpal tunnel, then more power to you.
