Classes in New Expansion (Dragonflight)

Expansion 10.0 seems to be interesting with all the leaks going on. But if there is one thing i would like for blizzard to carefully review and rework, its for them to truly consider class design from top to bottom.

  • Make classes feel more unique
    • A lot of classes feel way too similar to one another. By giving classes the ability to do everything–Tank, heal, dps, cc, peal, and mobility-- they have all lost their niche. They have all lost the aspect of their class that separates one from each other.
    • I blame the current talent trees and Borrowed power for this.
      • Talents trees Feel pretty bland. I wish they were more passive choices that etheir or influence the class’s abilities and or change how it functions. Core abilities should not be pushed and unlocked throughout the whole talent tree system. The pvp tree feels even worse. I really wish this gets revamped completely.
      • Borrowed power should be the last layer of class design, not half of it. It should be a flare, the final topping. Not the core of the whole design philosophy.

Summary:
I just want everyone’s class to feel viable. One Spec shouldn’t be the only one viable in the situation the player is in “pvp or pve.” Classes should feel different from one another and the thematic flare should rightfully POP and flourish. Talent trees should be further improved and reworked, especially the pvp one. Borrowed power should be the last layer of class design. Tier sets for both PVP and PVE please :].

The most original class they can make already exists as npcs and they can use ideas from 2 other games:

Wardens. They would throw their full-circle glaives at enemies at range and can also fight in melee with it if needed be.

FFXIV’s dancer class uses circle glaives to throw both at range and in melee for aoes in a very unique fashion.

Elden Ring has a crystal boss that uses circle glaives(2 small, 1 large) in 2 fashions, The smaller ones are thrown at you, the bigger one is rolled at you on the ground like a wheel and rolls back.

it would also be ranged and we haven’t had a new ranged class in forever.

In regards to new classes, they can honestly still make many more. I read about a few skin leaks. I hope this is false cuze I would prefer for them to be release as a advance spec of the profession assigned or new class altogether. Example warlock and necromancer.

But, mainly want them to prioritize what we have. Rework and emphasize each class unique aspect. As well as massive rework on our talent trees

there is no dragonflight expansion. it was a fake leak to keep sheep intrested.

Haha.
Regardless of the actual expacs theme. There is one coming and I would love for them to truly focus on properly designing and reworking their current classes

I have been feeling this way since Cataclysm, with each xpac making each class and spec feel less and less unique. Everyone can do everything, everyone has a stun, a dot, mobility, snares, cc, etc. Everytime a class gets an iconic ability , they either give a similair ability to everyone, or give everyone a counter.

Oh and everyone has an interupt with a blanket silence for the school locked (with no DR), with Melee and their almost unlimited uptime, it’s so much fun to play as a single school of magic caster…

I can’t even get a demon with disarm? Really? Thanks blizzard. It suppose it could be worse, I could be a shadow priest with absolutely 0 mobility.

I just cant play this game anymore. To many classes, to many specs, and they all feel the same.

I find it hard to enojoy the game fully for the reasons you pointed out. I’ve tried every caster to just find that they all feel the same, while some just before way better than other in given scenario / Envoronment (pvp vs pve)
