Classes from other games that you wish were in WoW?

Blizzard lore completely aside, what classes for other games do you wish you had an equivalent for in WoW?

For me it would be something like Esper from Wildstar or Mesmer is GW2. I think I’m a sucker for then floating blades / psychic powers.

I would want a dancer class; boss queen would whip people into submission. :nail_care:

I like that! A few games have shown me how dancer can be interesting.

Bard, ftw!

Also, Ranger, Archer, Battle Mage would be cool.

Or how about we borrow from the WFRP system, and your class is actually your profession, which you have managed to turn into an adventuring career!

Say ‘Let’s talk about FF characters!’ without saying it…:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Mesmer from GW2

I like the Minstrel from LotR. Which is basically a Bard. Mixing it with Dancing would be great. Galaxies had something like that.

Bard … speed-song for the win!

Wardens from Lord of the Rings Online. A warden would be a perfect mid range mail user in WoW, and their use of spears and javelins would make them unique.

Psychics from any game. With the focus on memories and emotions in Shadowlands, it would have been the perfect time for us to have found psychics from other worlds that were willing to train Azerothians.

Bards from any game. It has to be said every time: Bards don’t all use music instruments, especially if you bring in some D&D or Pathfinder bards. Several are weaponmasters, others have weird magic disciplines.

Samurai, straight up from Final Fantasy XiV. If it was a proper port, they’d be THE most popular melee class, behind maybe a well done Monk class.

Geomancers from Final Fantasy Tactics. The day these show up in ANY MMO, that’s where I’ll be. Such a dope and versatile class.

Tinker class from WC3.

Actually I most likely NCSoft classes! But FFXIV does have some cool ones too.

CoH/Villains
Dark Miasma Mastermind; Pets, pets more pets that hit like a freight train as well that is an AoE Drain and Dot based Healer with solid DPS for soloing and groups.

I’ll double down on the Mesmer from GW2. But the catch with classes in other games is that they work with different mechanics. In GW2 we can change weapons and skills to change the way a class plays. But I always enjoyed the laser greatsword the Mesmer can do.

Scout from tf2

I immediately thought Merchant from RO and I’m a total XIV andy.

Engineer from gw2. All the lore is there and they basically exist as npcs already.

Bard easily, some of the cleric archetypes from Rift, the Mage healer from Rift, a real duel wield ranger build such as from D&D, necromancer, blood mage, alchemist or artificer of some kind.

I am surprised we don’t have a class like this TBH. Psionics definitely exist in WoW and Priest dabbles with this a bit but man, Priest is already overloaded as it is so I wouldn’t object to this eventually being its own thing.

mm… Dark Age of Camelot. Those were the days.

Uhh… my dude… these are called Shaman. They’re definitely a core part of WoW lore.
