Class X is UNPLAYABLE!

Hi there,

I’ve recently come back to playing WoW after a good amount of time away from the game.

I was a little unsure as to which class I wanted to play so, as a lot of people might do, searched online for a bit of advice.

There seems to be a bit of a trend nowadays that I just don’t remember existing a while ago. I know people have complained about classes, balance, etc. since the game’s inception, but it seems as though the general consensus is that every class is simply UNPLAYABLE.

Literally, search through any individual class forum and you’ll find a plethora of threads as to why the class is broken beyond repair.

Do people really complain this much now?

I have leveled a Paladin, Warrior, Rogue and am currently leveling a Druid - and of course they’re quite different mechanically to what I remember but they’ve still served me well and I’m having an absolute BLAST on the druid.

The instant form (especially while gathering), role versatility, affinities for further specialization, lore, etc. - it’s excellent.

I’ve read threads about how Guardian druid consist of barely any buttons… but, once again, I’m having a great time utilizing the damage abilities, interrupts, CCs (Mass Entaglement on patrol mobs), Ursol’s Vortex to keep packs together where threat may be an issue (or simply to delay incoming mob’s arrival). Taking advantage of times where a boss may target another party member, or begin a cast - in order to pop out and throw a quick Wild Growth on the party. Then there’s just the general tanking mechanics that you can improve upon such as positioning yourself in such a way where you can LoS incoming casts, etc.

Anyway, the point of this thread is that I really don’t understand all the complaining that I read, lol. As far as I can tell, maybe it applies to the top 1% of the game, but you people have to remember that there are plenty of people that really enjoy the game in its current state - and that it really isn’t as BAD as you may be believing.

Or is it perhaps the same people that I group with that complain about a 4 button rotation yet these are the same people who are the last ones to interrupt, or take advantage of their utility in such a way to assist the group.

I don’t know - and either way, I’m enjoying the game a whole bunch so couldn’t care less if this or that isn’t optimal or viable.

Keep up the great work Blizzard!

Yes they do. They blame their own failures on their spec rather than their own play.

Take it from a friend of a multi time gladiator. Any class in BFA could get high rating, (2s, 3s or RBGs) and take it from me litteraly all 36 specs could succeed in M+ and even raiding. All of it is player driven negativity towards anything but the “meta”.

People have been complaining about WoW since around the time WoW was announced.

Though as I understand it, some specs of Druid were a bit of a dumpster fire at the beginning of BfA.

Okay, I kind of suspected as much, lol.

The way some of these threads are written - I can’t even imagine how many new players might be deterred from playing a class they might otherwise enjoy (or, even worse, deterred from the game entirely). It’s a bit of a shame.

Anyway, thanks for the clarification!

Lol okay bro, Shaman players have really just been awful in BfA lmao, it’s not at all their kit which provides very little and would not benefit a group if it brought them

Its usually outliers for a few wonky specs. The majority of classes and specs feel fine to play, but there are a few that rely on blizzard’s borrowed power systems to shore up their weaknesses.

I’ve been playing with a Shaman since I started playing again - it’s his favourite class and he loves it and sees no issues with it.

Firstly, lmao, you are probably the only Shaman that feels that way.
Secondly, have you reached max level and installed a DPS meter?
Thirdly, why are you referring to yourself in the third person?

Do you read? He said WITH a shaman.

Clunky and unplayable or two words you’ll often hear when describing classes

Ahh, missed that.

Firstly, lmao, his friend is probably the only Shaman that feels that way.

Sure, if your raid didn’t mind you doing 30k to 45k less DPS than that other spec you could be playing at any time at the push of a button :

Thankfully, only 69 Hunters did not get the memo.

He’s been maining a Shaman since early TBC, and primarily plays Resto and Enh.

He does have DPS meters.

Makes sense that he sticks with it then, I never wanted to stop playing my DK even after they stole my 2H and made me poke the enemy with two lil swords.
Everyone has the right to play what they want, but saying that problems don’t exist there is a little much.

Shaman’s damage is actually not bad. It just has a problem with relying too heavily on free stormstrike procs

What’s your point though? Different specs excel in different scenarios. I’m sure there are instances in the game where the other specs surpass BM.

So, in other words, everything that a Resto Druid will do 20 times better in Shadowlands.

So… what about actual tanking? You know, that thing you’re supposed to be doing. How many buttons for that?

Mangle. Thrash. Swipe. Moonfire.

^ That’s the complaint.

Mangle, Thrash, Swipe, Moonfire are your DPS abilities though?

I was under the impression that there was more to tanking than DPS.

I only have a few problems with say like Warlock in Mythic+

For Demonology to do damage they have to go through an entire rotation, while say Destro can pop a cataclysm drop a rain of fire and do the same damage in two globals.

Heh. Good one!
