Class Wishlist

There are two classes that I really wish were in the game.

Shadow Knight - Plate Armor
Tank, Melee Damage
Shadow and Shadowflame magic focus. Like a antipaladin or voidadin.

Spellblade
Tank, Melee, Ranged - Cloth Armor
Uses all form of magic to enhance their shield to tank and melee abilities.
Similar to a mage in many ways as well as take some pysonic /psyblade like spells from DND.

EDIT: This is something I put together a while back that utilizes current mage spells and themes.

Battle Mage Tank and Melee specs for Mage (Or Hero Class that is a little too much like the Mage lol)

Spell Ward - Tank Spec - Mastery: Elemental Absorption: Causes your Elemental Shield spell effects to linger on the caster after the absorb is used, dispelled, or switched. Increases the absorb, damage, and length of Elemental Shield spells and effects by X%.

Elemental Blade - Melee Damage Dealer - Mastery: Vorpal Blade: Vorpal Blade is infused with the last Elemental slash spell used. (Fire - Always Critical Strike, Ice - Hits second Target, Aracne - Hits up to 4 additional nearby targets, Time - Vorpal Blade DoT) Each time you use an Elemental Slash Attack you gain a stack of Vorpal Blade Empowerment that empowers the next Vorpal Blade spell used Max 5 Stacks. Increases the potency of Elemental Slash and Vorpal Blade spells by X%

Magic: Arcane, Fire, Frost, Time
Mix up schools of magic to either protect themselves and allies and devisate their foes.
1 handed weapon and offhand (Maybe two hander for melee dps just because that would be dope.)
Primary Stat: Intellect

Tank: Keeping up Elemental Shields as active mitigation
Melee DPS: Uses melee and spells to kill

(Melee Damage)Enchanted Blade: Increases the potency of the next 3 elemental slashes by X% 1 Minute cooldown.
(Tank)Enchanted Shield: Increased the potency of next Barrier by X% and heals for the absorb amount. 2 Minute Cooldown

Elemental Slash Spells:

Aracne Slash: Infuses your melee weapon with arcane energy and slashes the target dealing (X% of Spell Power) as Arcane and Physical damage. Also hits 4 additional nearby targets for 40% damage. 3 second cooldown

Fire Slash: Infuses your melee weapon with Fire and slashes the target. dealing (X% of Spell power) Fire and Physical damage. Always Crits. 3 Charges. 10 second recharge

Ice Slash: Infuses your melee weapon with Ice and slashes the target. dealing (X% of Spell power) Frost and Physical damage. and [(X% of Spell power) * 80 / 100] Frost damage to a second nearby target.

Time Slash: Infuses your melee weapon with Time Magic and slashes the target throughout the ages. dealing (X% of Spell power) as Arcane and Physical over 12 seconds (Damage over Time Spell lol) 10 Second Cooldown

Vorpal Blade Spells: Infuses your melee weapon with arcane energy and slashes the target dealing (X% of Spell Power) as Last Element used and Physical damage.

Elemental Shields Spells:

Prismatic Barrier: Shields you with an arcane force, absorbing [20 / 100 * Total health * (1 + Versatility)] damage and reducing magic damage taken by 15% for 1 min. The duration of harmful Magic effects against you is reduced by 25%. 25 second cooldown.

Blazing Barrier: Shields you in flame, absorbing [20 / 100 * Total health * (1 + Versatility)] damage for 1 min. Attacks against you cause the attacker to take (12.5% of Spell power) Fire damage. 25 second cooldown.

Ice Barrier: Shields you with ice, absorbing [20 / 100 * Total health * (1 + Versatility)] damage for 1 min. Attacks against you reduce the attacker’s attack speed by 20%. 25 second cooldown.

Time Barrier: Shields you within a time dilation, absorbing [20 / 100 * Total health * (1 + Versatility)] damage for 1 min. Delaying a portion of damage based on your Intellect, instead taking it over 10 sec. Affects magical attacks at 35% effectiveness. 25 second cooldown.

Basic Spells:

Flame Strike: Calls down a pillar of flame, burning all enemies in a selected area and inflicting additional damage every 1 sec. for 8 sec. Instant Cast (used like Death and Decay or Consecrated Ground)

Frost Nova: Blasts all enemies within 8 yards for (41.58% of spell power) Frost damage and reduces their movement speed by 20% for 10 sec. Deals reduced damage beyond 5 targets.

Flurry: Unleash a flurry of ice, striking up to five targets for a total of [(X% of Spell power) * 3] Frost damage. (Ranged spell like Avenger’s Shield to pull in MoBs)

Future Threat : Taunts the target to attack you.

Most, if not all, other basic mage spells could be the same. Mirror Image, Blink, Time Warp, Slowfall, Teleports and Portals, Altertime time, Cone of Cold etc, etc.

We have too many knights already

So basically, a DK with a healing spec, and a shaman with a tank spec.

Nah. Never. But I’m just a sucker for a beast in plate.

Well I’m talking about thematically different classes. So no. I didn’t mention mechanics but just assume it wouldn’t be the same as current classes.

Also shaman are in need of some reworks. Especially elemental.

Necromancers

  • A bit of Death Knight and Warlock
  • Mana regenerates from damage and kills
  • Can summon spectres, or zombies/skelly bois with corpses
  • Kit focuses on sapping life for mana regen
  • Each spec summons different types of undead
  • Okay I’m out of ideas for now.

Neither really have a basis in Warcraft; even Tinkers have more legs to stand on then those aforementioned two…

Well it’s a good thing this is fiction. You don’t need to base everything in this game on previous lore and stories. They can make new stuff.

An Assassin without combo points and does actual damage rather than being a CC class.

I mean. You did mention mechanics.

Thats enhance shaman with a shield.

I get its a wish list. But they wont be put in the game for thematic reasons, but mechanical ones.

To be fair enh. shaman isn’t the vibe a lot of people look for in magic melee, esp since half of the class’ kit is about healing. It would be cool to have an arcane focused counterpart.

1/2 the tool kit? You mean like. 2 total abilities?

Its heavily based on enhancing your weapons, and using ranged spells as a melee. Mechanically, this would carry over into shields.

I am not saying I am for tank shaman. But mechanically it is what people are asking for when “spell blade tank” or whatever comes up.

The arcane focused counterpart would have to be different in such a way that warrants its existence. It cant merely be a “melee/tank with ranged spells, and personal buffs that enhances its weapons/shields”.

we have enough melee

I just want a Sorcerer class

What would be the difference between a Sorcerer and a Mage?

A music/song class is such a huge missed opportunity in WoW. Who doesn’t love some Elite Tauren Chieftain?

Someone played Everquest :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Easy, a Sorcerer would have a stronger spell/healing potency

Me? No, but a lot of Dark Age Camelot. Bard/Skald/Minstrel in that game was some of the most played classes in the game, really fun.
