100%. 2h users are pretty much all middle of the pack or better ST. Blizzard is going to over nerf the top 4-5 specs. They probably got funneled in most comps so it’s a double nerf because the 2h users catch up in gear, loot axe and win.
Working on getting my warrior 3 vault options for socket next week. 3rd craft next tuesday and 1 tier from raid + 2 cata and token equals win.
As just like I said in my other thread which can easily be found: World first race is over, blizzard wouldn’t DARE touch any classes for there magical snow flake sponsor bunnies now that it is over the hammer will start to drop hard.
You got these “world first heros” who beat the last boss with classes that are scaled to a certain level, but watch the level of nerfs that follow so the normal mythic guild won’t even have a CHANCE. I wonder is blizzard really happy with that design choice? I am sure they are because they don’t want others to threaten the ‘top dogs’ out there.
But I also wonder is blizzard happy that 100-maybe 500 guilds are able to clear the FULL max end game level content because the patch is done and game moves on to next exp? If its a pvp problem, I get it, not that I think pvp is a big thing anymore but if you have a class one shoting another class in pvp, 100% it should not be a thing, but who does it bother if a class is strong in PVE?
Loot axe? When exactly? The chances of a melee looting the Axe is going to be rare, a kill every week for 3 months wont put you at 50/50. Most of us will never see it.
It’s how Shadowlands played out. Especially the last season.
But for this expansion it’s been relatively close. If you got beat on the meters you got out geared or out played. And the first day of this season was dramatically different.
The degree is bad right now for sure. Did you not look at data for the last two raids? You still had specs getting gapped by 10%-20%+.
You not see 10.1.5 Heroic numbers?
Arcane 147K
Unholy 139k
Median roughly 126K
Outlaw 117k
Frost DK 113K
Talking 30% top to bottom, with top being 17% over middle of the road.
10.07 looked to be the most balanced at the end of the season. With unholy being a crazy outlier at the top and frost and elle being outlier at the bottom. Everyone else was within about 10% of each other. If you take out the UHDK gap and take out the bottom 2, specs were all within about 5% of average DPS. Not saying that’s ok I would like to see a smaller spread.
Granted unholy was 15% above average and 31% over the worse DPS.
The tail end of 07 (after the nurfs to ret following the rework) was the most balanced patch. Every class was roughly within 5% of average either above or below, minus 3 specs.
Edit: If you look at just single target it was just as bad as this patch though. Terrible. 41% gap top to bottom.
Was talking mostly about M+ balance. Never looked closely at raid.
27% spread based on the lowest perfomer isn’t good. But it’s not over the top bad. And raids can get a little leeway as long as the lower performers have a couple of bosses they excel at.
Which is something you don’t really see in M+. For the most part it’s just varying degrees of the same specs out performing others. And now were seeing 30-100% spreads in some cases. Similar to season 3 in Shadowlands.
Not trying to be ungrateful, but 6% damage buff for affliction will probably leave it as the worst dps spec in the game. My 469 Ilvl warlock right now sims at around 192k dps for Demonology. With the exact same gear, it sims at 166k for affliction. This is with full tier set and BiS trinkets. A 6% damage buff wont even come close to making it competetive, all it’ll do is allow affliction to continue to get neglected.
Blizzard has done an insane thing with affliction warlock. They have successfully designed a tier set that makes affliction one of the funnest classes to play in my opinion in the game right now, but made it at the cost of all of its damage. 30 second soul rot cd windows is super fun to play, but when it does no damage, it stops being fun.
Please blizzard, affliction seriously needs no rotational changes (outside of fixing tier set bugs that only apply to one seed in aoe, and allowing seed to extend dots too). All affliction needs is a straight damage buff. 6% will bring affliction to 175k dps (with my gear). By my estimation, affliction needs at least a 15% buff to even be competetive with demonology, getting affliction to 190k and demo to 192k. This way they can be used interchangeably, or situationally.
Not the worst but pretty bad in terms of damage output. It will put you about where shadow is now and they just got a 5% buff. Shadow should be about mid pack now. Affliction probably needed about twice the increase to be mid pack.
Comparing affliction to demo though…
Demo is overperforming, it’s the 3rd best DPS atm. Demo would need about a 10% nurf across the board to be average dps. Not saying it’s going to happen, but your comparing one of the best specs to one of the worst. At least you can play demo, not all underperforming specs have the luxury of respeccing and shooting from the bottom of the list to near the top.
be grateful you got something. Crossing finger to see WW buff next tuesday the 5dec. Hope i can Raid soon my fat cheek cant take the bench much longer its boring
