demo didn’t need to be changed. the spec is fine compared to other classes. but if they want to strong arm people into destro I guess go for it blizz

I can’t speak for the other classes by why nerf Demo AoE??? We get a bit unnaturally high parses in VotI since a lot of our AoE is burst and front-loaded and can line up with add spawns quite well on fights like Eranog.

But Demo is already a third-rate spec in M+ (even with the latest buffs) and this will just decimate the last of us holding on there. Just look at Demo lock representation in keys above 20! We do well in lower keys but fall off a cliff later - specs like Destro take over because they have higher sustained AoE damage.

In all these nerfs smell of the devs just looking at some top parses on Mythic Eranog, Dathea an Raszageth and not really thinking about what these numbers mean. You gave us burst AoE and designed fights with a lot of required burst AoE - wow! But in other content where a lot of sustained AoE is needed (M+) our burst is very immaterial.

Please rethink this.

• Developers’ notes: We’re modifying the output of Grimoire of Sacrifice to bring it in line with the output of Warlock demons. At the end of the day Warlock is a pet-centric class and while we want there to be an option to opt-out of your pet, we don’t want it to always be the clear answer.
• Wrathful Minion now increases the damage of Grimoire of Sacrifice by 10% (was 15%).
• Demonic Inspiration now increases the damage of Grimoire of Sacrifice by 10% (was 15%).
• Grimoire of Sacrifice damage reduced by 15%.

The class literally has an entire spec based around pets and pets are still the go to for m+. This almost feels like a knee jerk reaction because you don’t want to fix all the bugs in 10.1 regarding GoSac’s interaction with the stupid class trinket.

MM literally has had lone wolf for 4 xpacs now and its not a problem for that “pet centric” class but you guys time and time again completely shaft GoSac for Warlocks.

Don’t let the Demo nerfs go through in PvP. Both Demonic Inspiration and Dreadbite damage is already nerfed with a PvP modifier.

Letting it go through effectively nerfs the two spells further than intended in PvP because the PvP modifier gets applied secondarily.

Destro is the best Warlock spec right now in PvP, there’s no reason to punish Demo or even Aff further by letting these PvE nerfs affect PvP.

As others have also pointed out here the Demo nerf to Dreadbite will also be a huge hit to ST damage, which Blizz just spent a huge amount of effort in 10.0.7 to bring into line with other specs. So now they’re nerfing our ST again for some weird reason?

This feels like someone just threw darts on a dartboard randomly to decide what to nerf. This shouldn’t make it live. Demo is fine - our AoE is bursty by design (if Blizz wants to change this they can but it would require a bigger rework) and our ST is finally decent.

If this goes live Demo goes from C-tier in M+ back to F-tier. Just ridiculous.
