I hope this wasnât a mistake, but I resubscribed after quitting a few weeks ago due to the very poor state of Guardian druid. I wanted to offer one last time some thoughts on how you can save the spec currently in addition to the fixes above you have mentioned.
Itâs really quite simple. Guardian as a spec is not in horrible shape play wise. Itâs not in great shape, but not in horrible shape. There are way too many points required at the bottom of the tree. But Iâm not going to make an argument for that right now. Iâm talking about simple tuning. In addition to the changes you listed above (which are okay first starts) we only need a few significant changes that would make us immediately viable.
1.) Make tooth and claw procs (including the ones dished out via Raze) including Magic damage. The tooltip would indicate that they already should, but that is not the case.
2.) Give us back the 10% mitigation to Ursineâs Adept that was stolen just before the season started and probably add another 5% on top of that at minimum.
3.) Get rid of Lunar Beam and replace it with Mark of Ursol, but make it cost 0 rage and have a 15 or 20 second cooldown, similar to spell reflect on demand that warriors get. An on demand 30% magic damage reduction that lasts 6 or 8 seconds on a 15 or 20 second cooldown is just what we need (in addition to tooth and claw procs covering magic damage) OR⌠add a stacking 10% magic damage reduction to iron fur (to a maximum of 30%)?? And have extra WIN for the player by keeping both? But Lunar Beam needs buffed way more than 130% or maybe on a 30-45 second cooldown.
4.) Thorns of Iron damage needs significantly increased. I have trinkets doing way more damage.
5.) This is equally as important as all the previous points. RAGE GENERATION part of the reason prot warrior is so fun, you guys said it yourself in a developer note just before launch, is that prot is generating a lot of rage and feels good to play at a fast pace. Guardian druid need at minimum about 20% faster rage generation so we can dump into iron furâs and other things more quickly. We also do not have any talent that increases our max rage by up to 20 extra. Why not? Plenty of dead talents in class or spec tree that could fill this role. Having an enrage ability to generate 20-30 rage pre pull on a 20 second cooldown would really help also. Currently you MUST pop barkskin or sleeper the moment you charge in otherwise you get smashed because it takes time to get mitigations up if youâre going to insist they take place through things like iron fur⌠i mean prot warriors get shield charge that gives them everything in the world, a charge, rage generation, a stun, shield block, aoe damage!!! With one button press!?! What gives!!! Could we please get a gratuitious stack of iron fur for either pressing charge or using an enrage button etc?
6.) The right side of the tree, it is true has a lot more dps, so why not focus on making the left side a PURE ARMOR BEAST, pure mitigation but maybe 25-30% less damage? Isnât that a fair trade off for getting crazy high survivability?
7.) MASTERY - our mastery scaling is absolutely awful and how you can justify it is beyond me. It could be quadrupled and still not where it should be in terms of scaling. Increase Mastery scaling! Maybe add magic DR as part of mastery as well!
8.) I know I said i wasnât going to fight this point but itâs too obvious, our talent trees are the most bloated of any spec in any class. PLEASE free up at minimum 3 additional talent points.
I really hope you guys are legitimately listening. Not that my own sub counts for anything but this for my own sanity is the last time Iâm trusting you guys to put Guardian where it needs to be. Not above prot, not necessarily equal to, but within 5-10% of all other tank specs so that all tanks are competitive and equally viable and inviteable to high level keys with pugs.
These are all simple tunings that would take a good developer about one or two afternoons to test.
