Class Tuning Incoming -- February 7 (Updated)

Ret Pally when?

Thin Mints first or you get nothing and like it!

I am putting the hunter on the bench until they figure this out. I tried the other 2 specs after being MM for ages and I am done for now.

More class tuning, this is reduculous. Never in the history of the game has there been such
a travesty.

These are nice changes in a vacuum, but their placement is less than ideal; Bears will still live and die by the availability of berserk and their 20%+ self buff damage reduction cooldowns at higher keys. This is especially true with the reduction in healing via Protector of the Pack and Dream of Cenarius recently to recover from very large hits (20% change to save a charge of Frenzied regeneration or slightly less cooldown on a Frenzied Regeneration will not help a proactive mitigation or instant recovery playstyle).

I do appreciate the Ironfur buffs which may ultimately translate a boost in self sustain by only maintaining 1 stack before diminishing returns and make something like Maul / Raze / Ursoc’s Fury more valuable for the cost of 40 rage, however, these are heavily tied to Tooth and Claw and the lower left section of an already bloated third tier. As mentioned, the lack of a personal low cooldown damage reduction talent in that area (e.g. Rage of the Sleeper not Pulverize), makes heavy investment in the lower left slightly unattractive as absorb shields cannot always be stacked to mitigate moderately large predictable hits from several sources before they are depleted.

Lunar Beam is still just too out of place as a capstone talent that is competing with things like the last point needed for Incarnation and a dip into the left for Raze or Ursoc’s Fury after an already expensive investment into Scintillating Moonlight / Twin Moonbeams / Galactic Guardian (mainly for the magic damage reduction). The talent cost of that Moonfire cluster really needs some attention in general to be honest.

As others have mentioned, consolidating the (non-optional) Berserk talents and maybe moving some of the underperforming / 2 point third tier talents upwards could open up the tree better than just adding more talents. The alternative will likely involve substantial buffs to individual talents that ends up railroading builds similar to Incarnation in prior seasons.

P.S. Despite the name, consider making Thorns of Iron deal arcane damage and maybe a bit more damage to benefit from Elune’s Favor at least so it doesn’t feel like a bad pick when trying to pick up Rage of the Sleeper with the cheapest pathing as there are few other sources of arcane damage without heavy investment in that scenario. Based on the tier placement, I would expect the trickle healing from these two talents to be a moderate proportion of Ursoc’s Fury healing in single target (before accounting for the current performance with AoE Moonfire) rather than nothing at all.

Nice step in the right direction from what you guys have previously done to bear. We need a few more buffs and make take away some of the nerfs or consolidate some of the bear talents like the nerfed Berserk: Ravage, Berserk:Unchecked Aggression and Berserk: Persistence. We have to spend 3 talent points to get all those + another talent point for incarn. So 4 talent points into a nerfed ability. Please fix

Revert what was done to Outlaw and MM.
all of it.
GIve us DT back and switch talents back to their previous spot in the talent tree.
Revert the nerf to fan of the hammer.

Awe wtf like bears were not powerful enough… Jeezus.

No thanks.

You dropped your /s considering Bears are rated as the only F tier tank massively behind every other tank.

Isn’t Barkskin supposed to fill that role?

Pop Barkskin then start your dps rotation until you have the rage to use Iron Fur.

I’d like to save barkskin as an actual defensive but I suppose if I fear death on pull it is what it is.

Love it? Why?

It’s not fun getting sat…

Nerf locks buff mages instead…

Yup.

Seriously, how do they make such a massive change to the way the spec feels to play without any dev notes on why? We literally get paragraphs for the smallest changes now and this was swept under the rug, mid season and they push us into a spec that feels so much worse to play for optimal performance.

Hey Blizzard, other classes exist besides druid.

Yeah like mages…

Are you gonna look at how hunters are suffering right now?

In particular, the situation regarding the Razageth bow or lack of it?

How are you gonna balance the BM spec when the bow accounts for +11-15% of our ST DPS?

You balance based on the 3% of hunters who have the bow doing 80k single target? or the other 97% who don’t doing 70k? Either nerf the bow and move most of that power into BM talent tree itself OR make a fail safe / bad luck protection for the bow so that every hunter who spent considerable effort have a chance to play the game properly. Not exaggerating when 1 rare item accounts more than the DPS bonus of 4-piece tier itself.

Please have a look and address all the feedback the hunter community has been raising.

Also, look what you have done to MM spec ? You took away a talent (double-tap) that was widely loved and used and replaced it with a talent that nobody uses. Even class writer doesn’t use it. PLUS you re-arranged our talent trees such that we have to grapple with Steady Focus - a talent that hunters have hated since previous expansions.

Again, you killed the spec and removed the fun of it. It’s our only viable spec. Right now BM and SV are fighting themselves at the bottom. MM has also dropped to bottom half of the DPS tables.

Primal Council was touted to be the fight that MM would be a dominant force. We were never even #1 on that boss fight. It was Boomkin and still is. Now Shadow Priests, Feral and DKs have overtaken us on that fight. We are bottom 3rd as a spec for Diurna, Kurog and Razageth. At least give us 1 spec that’s viable (i.e. top 5 positions) for these bosses?

What’s your solution to this?

P.s Didn’t talk about SV but that spec needs a total rework. Mages have 3 ranged spec. Warlocks have 3 ranged spec. Rolled hunter to play ranged so why are you forcing melee on SV? SV was a great spec and my favourite spec back in the day. Give us what we want and enjoy.

everyone gets sat at some point. Ele gets sat in almost every RWF. Its just your turn

I mained ele for nearly a decade…I get it.

My question is why does he love the fact that people are being sat for their class as opposed to for their skill? Why would anyone love the fact that balance is so bad that people who want to play a certain class, can’t do it at the level they want to play at because of improper game balance?

I don’t know why I even come to the forums…Arguing class balance with people that are IO 300 and 4/8n…it’s just…not worth it.
