Terrible call. Please revert.
Where is DK nerf or the data you monitor is not obvious that DK is over power? If it’s intended not nerfing DK then put it in highlight so everyone will know?
So like… are you nerfing Nexus Princess and Broodtwister even more to compensate for this? Because we’ve all already spent time gearing up a Preservation Evoker (sometimes even two) so we could 3-heal Broodtwister or reasonably heal Nexus Princess. Also not looking forward to Ansurek prog with a nerfed Pres Evoker unless that fight also receives a ton of nerfs.
BM needs considerably better compensation buffs than this. As it stands right now this is a ~9-10% nerf to BM’s single-target and a ~9-10% buff to its AoE. Its AoE is still totally unviable after these buffs since it’s strictly inferior to MM and Survival on that front, and now its ST is also atrocious after these nerfs (and you’d have no reason to play it over MM).
These are some absolutely outlandish nerfs to a spec that has exactly one niche. I don’t like BM Hunter in general and I don’t think it should be good, but I think these nerfs are way out of line for the middle of a raid tier and I don’t think anything about them makes sense.
On the topic of completely unwarranted nerfs… what did HPal do that warrants nerfing it by 5%???
Like, some of these nerfs are ridiculous and make some of the bosses we’re already progging harder next week than they are this week.
Are they just okay with Blood DK HP rubber banding all the time? How many times have you seen a BDK suddenly die and it’s because they ran out of runic power? I don’t think the game would suffer from having sturdier tanks, might even fix the shortage at lower keys.
@Devs - Please go to the Hunter forum and look at the giant feedback post about these planned changes. Please listen to us and our class theorycrafters/leaders. This should be a collaborative process.
Seconded for DH with the post about aldrachi reaver. That tree is so bad to play that the devs have a class worried because of buffs. Yet aldrachi isnt being changed at all in 11.0.5?
Honestly some of these changes come off as incredibly tone deaf.
The templar ret buff looks good, but the rest? Why are you nerfing warrior again?
Why are you nerfing hpal healing?
Why is restoration shaman not being nerfed since its the only viable healer for +10?
Nothing for pres evoker even though they are outhealing every class by a good amount in raids?
Yall really are just using a dart board aren’t you?
Some of these changes are straight up asinine rofl.
Wow. BM Hunter is the only M+ spec in the D Tier on wowmeta.
Is the intent is to make BM Hunter D Tier in Raid too?
Arms was nerfed, fury AOE (our niche/only strength) was nerfed, it worked out to a .6% direct ST increase for fury which leaves us at…26th of 26 still!
So no, this was buffs mixed in with nerfs; nerfs that were slated for 11.0.5, and doubled for this Tuesday, I might add.
The dart board suggestion above seems to be the only real, viable explanation; this is braindead and completely removes warriors from a lot of the game.
I will be “fine” because of my status/team, however I am currently gearing a DK because being a detriment to your friends certainly doesn’t feel good, even if they’re willing to accept it.
Wait there’s people besides me who play this in pvp?
Secondly, why nerf this
It has no dispel protection and takes like 5 globals and a complete lack of awareness from your opponents to punish
You SHOULD be rewarded for getting a huge setup and combining someone , if it’s not interrupted.
At the beginning of this expansion, Holy Paladins were positioned to be top-tier healers, but just before launch, they were hit with heavy nerfs. As a result, they ended up in a mediocre spot—not terrible, but certainly not where they were expected to be. They’ve been managing to hold their own, somewhere around A or B tier, but they were far from the top. Now, this new 5% healing nerf hits even harder. Holy Paladins were already barely getting by, especially with the amount of unavoidable splash damage present in dungeons.
In Mythic 5 and beyond, the AoE damage from bosses is massive and relentless. Even as a well-geared Holy Paladin, I can handle M5s with some effort, but M6 starts to become challenging, and M7 or M8 are a nightmare where even geared players die from unavoidable splash damage. This 5% reduction is a serious blow to an already struggling spec, and it feels like the game is pushing Holy Paladins out entirely.
I’ve played every healing class, and at this point, it’s simply not enjoyable anymore. You have a great game, but whoever is in charge of these decisions seems to be missing the mark. At some point, you need to listen to the player base. You claim these nerfs are about tuning, but what data are you looking at that the rest of us can’t see?
Frankly, it feels like a tactic to keep players constantly switching classes, chasing after buffs, only to be hit with nerfs later on. This cycle keeps us playing longer, but it’s exhausting. We’re tired of it.
TWW feels like I am at the doctor having my reflexes checked, but the Dr. is a 12 year old who can’t stop bonking my knee with the little rubber hammer.
It used to be good in the tier 1 Legion with the artifact powers, but yeah, since the artifact weapons went away not so much.
Tuning team really trying hard to torpedo this expansion early.
absolute clowns, because how can you do 11% nerfs off of limited information.
It just sucks to put so much work into a character and then have it be nerfed again and again
You know whats funny about the nerfs to BM hunter. The fact that they reworked that entire side of the tree where Basilisk Collar is because no one spec’d into it at all in Dragonflight because it was hot trash. When we finally spec into that side of the tree they completely gut and kill it so we can stay the hell away from it again. Meanwhile Packleader still sits 20% below Dark Ranger for Hero Talents and we get nothing to change that.
This game is so awesome, but class design has really gone into the toilet. Constantly jerking us around, overdesigning the heck out of classes and specs that were much more fun to play and easier to understand in previous incarnations, both for players and increasingly evidently the designers as well.
I want to play WoW, but I don’t want to play it with this version of the classes. This class design detracts from the fun of the game. And I’m afraid now to invest time in learning one of these complicated messes for fear I will get arbitrarily grossly nerfed such that I can count on getting outperformed by another in a role to the tune of two+ key levels.
Blizzard, you have made it as perilous as ever to try sticking with one character. Literally no spec is safe, we’re all vulnerable to whiplash. It is draining and dispiriting as heck.
Feeling like I should swap to another character after the designers have undermined the hours and hours of work I’ve put into a character is the crappiest reason to swap characters possible.
I think these changes don’t help the issues that warriors are facing. maybe they should give warriors more abilities(like lust ?) in m+ while they are nerfing damage on warriors.
You cannot push these changes live Blizzard. Pull them out of the build and go and complete the work properly in the 11.0.5 patch.
Pack Leader needs significant work (more focus on Dire Beasts and delinking it from Call of the Wild).
The rework of BM to increase the recharge time of Barbed Shot (and therefore reduce the number of Barbed Shot casts) has massive implications that you have not properly calculated, documented, compensated for and tuned around. Fewer War Orders resets means fewer Kill Command casts means less damage. Fewer Stomp triggers means less damage. Fewer Barbed Wrath triggers means less CDR on Bestial Wrath means lower uptime on Bestial Wrath means a lot less damage.
Beast Cleave needs an increase to its base duration up to 8s (from 6s). The low duration is predicated on a rotation that had only 3 spells (Multi-Shot, Barbed Shot, and Kill Command) and that is no longer true, you have added in more spells to the rotation so Beast Cleave needs an extra GCD window by default.
The complete lack of understanding of what you are doing to the spec is astonishing. BM had decent (not the best) single target damage and only appeared on top of WoW Logs because it benefits so much more than other specs from Power Infusion - i.e. it was getting propped up. BM has complete trash AoE/Cleave/Prio damage. Your changes are going to make it, not just the worst damage, but significantly behind all other specs in game for all damage profiles.
Most importantly the majority of the player base is still progressing through season one and has committed Sparks, Crests, and Vault choices (not to mention oodles of gold) to gearing a certain way and gutting a spec like this is just plain terrible design and even worse management.
Fire whoever is in charge of this area of your game.
It’s almost like they’ve decided there should be a definite meta for each season of M+, and too bad for anyone unable to guess correctly before a season starts.
