if you cry nerf a class your the problem. buffs not nerfs
2 xpansions of them being the go to for hunters its okay that their not good all around. BM needs to be left by the wayside for a few seasons. I will say tho its kinda dumb that their set bonus doesnt do some cool stuff like summon celestial pets that truck for a few seconds.
revert nerf on dk
I just checked in on my Balance Druid and I have 3 talent points to spend, allowing me to get all 3 capstone talents. This is bad design.
edit: also new Convoke icon baffles me. Other Shadowlands abilities needed changes because they didn’t match class fantasy, but Ardenweald Druid was perfectly fine.
Starsurge too. It’s awkward during Heart of the Wild that you want to do damage for healing but some rotational damage abilities get no benefit.
I see it as nonsense really.
Because if they want to encourage the game style of doing healing while doing dps.
Then they should add more spells and skills, not very limited skills considering that we have several spells to do dps that we have to use in a mandatory way to ignore them.
How? Because i am comparing the nerfs in this patch to what happened during wrath and cata? How am i in the wrong thread?
Nice balance. Dark Ranger now has a total of 54 logs in mythic with only 3 of them above 1m dps. this is ofc the first boss which is the most accessible. at the higher scale there is only 1 on fights past 4/8 m and they look like they was being carried/paid to be there.
Reminder to check on mages, we need adjustments. Thanks!
How are you feeling after the changes? I heard they chose not to go through with some of the listed changes.
I’m thinking of trying Ele on my Shammy. How’s it feeling after the nerfs? Should I stick to Enhance or is this a good time to swap?
Fix Mages, this “rework” is a broken mess that killed the entire class mid-season. Both Arcane trees were more fun in Beta.
Aside from already mentioned issue where all 3 Mage specs are in second half of dps parses (as a pure dps class that cannot perform other roles) and should be brought up, there are also additional gameplay issues that should be addressed.
Fire - Living Bomb is still undertuned. If you are worried that buffing it more would again lead to beta situation there is an alternative - significally buff its damage and proc chance, but remove spread to compensate. Such change would allow you to tune it to needed level without scaling against big packs getting out of hand.
Frost - Ice Nova is a rotational ability for them and should not require any utility sacrifices. Consider making Ring of Frost a choice node with Mass Polymorph instead, which would keep number of CC available simultaneously similar and would make much more sense, since both abilities are AoE incapacitates that break on damage with different pros and cons. Additionally, Water Elemental bar is still bugged and reset to default settings each relog and should be fixed and Wintertide still does not make much sense as 2 point investment when alternative path to Icy Veins is all 1 point talents and should be reduced to 1 point too.
Arcane - Aethervision as a concept is undestandable, but since currently playing it in not intended way (stacking with Nether Precision instead of using after consuming it) is beneficial it could use additional fixes. Simple way could be just making Aethervision damage bonus to Arcane Barrage not stack with Nether Precision bonus to it and compensating with a buff to base damage of Arcane spells, so that Aethervision can be played in intended way and Arcane does not suffer dps loss for doing that.
Enhance is far superior in every way currently, I suspect some changes to it, I hope ele gets some single target help because right now its sitting as one of the worst single target specs in the game but the aoe still feels amazing.
because it did overperform. wildly
i mean the issue here is thinking that ret pal has the most utility when it doesn’t. we offer defensiveness and off-healing. where as shaman has BY FAR the most utility. with also having enhance outperform us in dmg. by a good 20%. Ret is soft capped at 5 targets. classes like fury warr and DH and boomy and a ton of other things can do WILDLY more overall. Ret causes burst and then stays at that level. other classes build up and do more dps into their rotation.
There’s plenty of vids where you see a warrior or dh or boomy pulling 10mil dps and the ret is just sitting at 4 mil.
Prot pally now can outperform ret.
I have a 15 sec int. a 30 sec Stun and a 1 min AOE Blind that gets immediately taken off. Sham has shortest int, stun totem which can drop 2x or be heavily reduced. totem resets. Knockups. ST Stuns with lasso. Healing totem. Sundering stuns.
If you think ret pal has the most utility you’re absolutely delulu
Also, Ret absolutely has a ton of very valuable utility. Shaman having more utility doesn’t change that - and our utility is a bit more… sporadic and niche, in some ways. Thunderstorm is great, but requires two talent points to be great, at least while pugging. Cap totem is good, too, but requires planning instead of being a stop you can use immediately. PCT is very good when there’s a contrived situation, like the debuff affix.
TLDR idk why you’re throwing shade at Enhancement for finally being in a pretty damn good spot, it doesn’t make Ret bad. Ret does a lot of damage on a very simple rotation with a ton of utility, whether you want to admit it’s there or not. Do I think they’re a problem? No, not really. And they still don’t have the most utility, but they have some of the best.
Can we get Brewmaster monk tuning or changes please? It’s safe to say we have enough data in the season now to assign Brewmaster the title of absolutely the squishiest M+ tank.
Perhaps a fundamental spec change is needed in order to address these issues? Prot Pallies were weak for a few weeks and they get buffed instantly to be meta. All I’m asking is for some Brewmaster buffs to make them more comparable.
not throwing shade on anything. Why you’re taking it in a negative context is wild to me.
And ret does have utility but it’s in the form of long CD’s like BOP and divine shield. yes the utilities are great and I’ve saved runs using them. But to say they’re the class with the MOST utility is what I’m pointing out is wrong.
The argument they made was that ret had the most utility and the it should be nerfed.
Ret has sustained burst dmg with defensive utility and offhealing at a high mana cost.
Enhance has a higher dps limit and wide utility that directly smoothes out the m+ run via cc and totems while offering minimal healing.
For someone to say that ret should be nerfed is wild to me. We’re supremely outperformed by a dmg mode prot pally. I’ve seen some pallys bursting for close to 3 mil on add packs and ending at 1.5 mil. with an overall of 1 mil dps.
Unless a ret is using sacrifice and bop and freedom and lay on hands wisely.(Which most don’t) All they bring is burst dmg. Which is soft capped at 5 where as other specs aren’t capped at 5. Nor do we perform as well at the higher levels like boomy or fury does.
what are you talking about. Pally and monk tanks are listed as #1 and 2 atm. Brew deff doesn’t count as the squishiest tank in the game.
Which is disingenuous of you, since the intent was clear, and what I just pointed out to you to be sure anyway.
No. You absolutely are not.
