I’ll keep my shaman shelved.
In low keys it’s common to have one of the dps not be great and that immediately tanks how helpful am Aug can be. Or if a dps is dead Aug benefit plummets.
So far up to 20-21 keys healing seems more about reaction time and preventative defensive than raw hps, I don’t think over even felt I need more hps if someone dies it’s normally to a 1 shot.
Overall I think Aug is a fun unique different playstyle that shouldn’t be dictated by chasing the bleeding edge of an infinite scaling system that doesn’t apply to 99.9% of the playerbase.
What do you think is buried under that new tree?
- Preservation
- Resonating Sphere once again applies Echo to the first 5 allies it passes through (was 3).
- Developers’ notes: Resonating Sphere was recently reduced as part of a broad AoE healing reduction pass. After watching the change play out, we’re not happy with the resulting gameplay – particularly in dungeons, where it doesn’t cover your whole party.
Wish they would fix the 4 piece set bonus. Would solve a lot of problems.
Nope its called reality. You dont balance a game around bad players. You balance around classes being played properly
Nobody forming a group starts with the assumption that the people they invite will be bad, and since nobody knows how good or bad someone will actually be, they will aim for better specs.
What key level do you mean when you say “lower keys”?
If I’m running low keys on alts, I don’t really care about class comp, since five apes could two chest basically any lower key this season. But in a weekly 20, the bread-and-butter for any decent player, Aug is a noticeable nice-to-have. Is it the end of the world to not have it? Absolutely not. But is it something I’d always prefer? Yup.
If you are requiring an aug for a 20 you are pretty bad tbh
The 5 worst specs on one team should be able to time a +20, especially with how easy they are this season.
“Requiring” is the wrong word, but preferring is completely reasonable. Preferring the better specs isn’t weird, it’s just how it goes. If you have two players in queue, and one is a havoc DH and the other is an affliction lock… who you going to pick?
Please fix more classes so they can all be broken.
DPS just salty that there’s one less slot for them.

Depends on the team comp, the key? The io of the DH and Lock, what server they are from.
20s are easier this season than ever. Any class can time 20s. The only time meta is an actual factor is at 25/26+
Imagine calling people salty when you reroll to meta every season since BFA and still don’t perform well
Again, I’m not saying it’s necessary. I’m saying it’s absolutely what happens.
Mages are in 75% of the keys on the first page of raider io already.
You do realise it’s the same few mages though right?
Hearthjacks is in like 12 of the top 20 runs.
If you actually look at the data correctly, all 3 mage specs combined are about as common as Demo Warlock or BM Hunter for 25+.
DH and Evoker are dominating that figure by a 10% margin.
Just hopping in to say that Arms (and warrior in general) has needed some attention for a while. We’ve seen several patches go out now with quite literally almost no changes at all. I don’t want our balance to hinge on a legendary, I want our class to feel well rounded and satisfying without it. Being 8% under other classes and then getting a legendary that gives you 8% more dps isn’t a fun way to play this game. I’d prefer to have a good spec design over a patch that involves waiting for good luck.

During break the meta last season they used assassination rogues and affliction locks to time +29s with zero meta specs allows in the group.
Buff night elves

Arms maybe, but Fury seems like it’s been pretty solid for a long time.
It’s not havoc/BM level busted, but still fairly strong compared to the other 22 dps specs in the game.

In saying it sounds like you needed Aug to prop you up if you are that stressed about 20s.
