Class Tuning Incoming – December 17

It’s called talent balance…

There’s always a few drastically under-tuned abilities/talents/trinkets, but Haunt is more about being a damage multiplier than the up-front damage.

All is true about the other classes… but make brewmaster monk tank great again!

Blizzard: “We are monitoring performance.”

All tanks of all levels: “Are you?”

No seriously… tanks are basically playing M+ several key levels higher than the rest of thier group. The number of tanks, tank design and tank balance are gatekeeping all of M+.

Don’t be hater you could have just asked why there are no outlaw buffs ,instead questioning poor marksman hunters buff they really needed.

Whats really gatekeeping M+ tanks is that one tank can do 50+ interrupts in a key while the others with perfect interrupts on CD will hit like, 20.

This is especially vital when a single bolt going off in a +12 and higher will one shot someone if they’re not topped off.

Top it off with the best AoE DPS and solid ST dps makes Paladin far and away the best choice for pugs and dedicated groups. The problem with balance changes mid patch is that it makes the tanks have to reroll, or drop out entirely. Thats why you don’t see many brewmasters or DH’s ins keys above 12 – and as an aside brewmaster is my main and I’m much tankier than a Paladin in almost all situations, but especially on bosses and dungeons with many hard hitting tankbusters. However, people see brewmaster and instantly decline like its an non-viable class.

I stopped trying to pug +12s on my brew, so effectively the season is over for me and i’m just doing weekly keys and playing as WW or MW.

*Demon hunters almost dead last Blizard Devs 10%

*Hunters next to top Blizzard Devs 75%

This is what happens when you hang around lead paint to long and get the two mixed up.

Not sure which is the bigger disappointment.

  • The different kinds of AoE damage so prevalent in S1 Mythic plus dungeons makes Holy miserable to play in 10+. Additionally, Disc is the only way to go above 10+
  • My demonology warlocks damage PLUMMETS if I dont chain the right CDs at the perfect time. When I do, my 2 min CD pet dies instantly.
  • I tank on a brewmaster monk. Enough said

Can I ask what the game devs intentions are with Holy Priest and AoE healing moving forward? Currently its not that fun as they don’t have many options to handle AoE damage in dungeons, and in raids Halo is absurd but every other spell feels worthless and we end up just being Heal bots for the next 50 seconds. If a power budget redistribution is planned so that things like PoH/CoH/Salvation are worth talenting into again, then I don’t think I have any qualms. Holy does fine in raids and if that’s the vision for the spec then so be it. But if nothing is planned, then I have 2 suggestions to help out Holy in dungeons:

  1. Since Oracle is the dungeon hero talent, buffing things would not impact raid balance. Thus, we could make Premonition a 30 second cooldown. All 3 premonition effects sound balanced at a 1min cooldown, and they are, but since there are 4 spells to cycle through, each effect ends up having a “2min cooldown” in a sense. 3 Extra PoMs every 2 minutes is a terrible ability. But at 30 seconds, you’d get each effect twice within 2min, giving them a 1min cooldown in a way.
  2. Greatly buff PoM and/or PoM supporting talents. Since most (if not all) AoE damage comes in ticks or waves (Splice, Void Surge, Forge Weapon, Alerting Shrill, Cultivated Poisons, Shadowy Decay, need i go on?) PoM is a super beneficial spell to have in the toolkit, but its healing per charge is a little low. Buffing its healing outright would probably require a nerf in some regard, but they attached a cast time to it in the past for this very reason. But I don’t want PoM to just suddenly heal 1mil per heal charge. That would be boring. So I think adding in synergy via supporting talents would make it interesting while making AoE damage better manageable for Holy. Benediction could be buffed to 40-45%, meaning Renew actually shows up and we actually make use of Renewed Faith. Buff Say Your Prayers to 40%-ish as well. Then separate Holy Mending from Benediction and buff it so that the healing isn’t so pitiful, giving synergy between these talents and helping out with AoE healing. With the added power, they could remove Prayers of the Virtuous as 2 more charges isn’t necessary if charges aren’t being consumed as often, which still makes Divine Service handy. So Holy Mending would replace Prayers of the Virtuous, and if they really wanted to, add in another talent (possibly replacing Epiphany) that acts like the Legion Legendary Gloves where PoM healing leaves a buff on the player that makes your next Heal/Flash/serenity 20% stronger, which helps AoE via Trail of Light and Binding Heal. To alleviate wasted charges, I would suggest to make it 10% but stacks up to 3 or 4 times.
This way we have stronger PoM, leaves renew on people, they get 6% more healing, PoM bouncing to renewed players heals them, PoM doesn’t dissipate as quickly with refunded charges, and buffs your single target healing which is where Blizzard seems to be pushing them. These could even replace the Divine Word cap stone and make players choose between that and Divine Image if they really want to.

Or report them for end users and subscribers mental abuse?

I am tempering my expectations regarding the upcoming changes. It seems that as Devastation Evokers, we may remain in a less-than-optimal state until Patch 12.

Currently, we are limited to one viable Hero talent tree, as the alternative remains largely unplayable. Blizzard appears to be focused on incremental buffs to the flawed Flameshaper tree, with minor 2%-5% increases to overall damage each patch via TWW. These changes do little to address the fundamental issues with the specialization.

At this point, re-rolling to another class might be a more enjoyable and viable option. Frankly, it’s hard not to speculate that this could be part of a broader strategy—perhaps a subtle effort to encourage re-rolling, which in turn bolsters subscription metrics for stakeholders.

Why are you not nerfing ehce and ele shamans even more??

I find oracle to be worthless to take to 10s and above (although i thought it was great in low keys.)
The only good premonition really was Piety. Insight is laughably bad and Solace would only be good if it applied to everyone in the group.
If everyone is taking damage in a +11 you’re not getting enough over healing going out to heal other people even with Guardian Spirit and Apotheosis active.
They either need to redesign oracle or make huge changes to holy to be worth playing in m+

Because the Meta Streamers and High key pushers will wine and go back to FFXIV and WOW becomes a dead game as it was in Shadowlands and this will negatively impact Blizzard and Microsoft stocks and investors.

They will keep buffing meta classes/specs or mini nerfing to show that they care. But that’s how the Capitalism works

i wish blizzard really make a class balance, this changes are a joke, the same meta classes are top still, the garbage classes they get a symbolic buff that doesnt change any for them.

Because as far as raiding is concerned, they’re no longer top dog, and are therefore fine.
