Class Tuning Incoming – August 19

With the beginning of Season 3 raiding, dungeons, and PvP, we very quickly saw data that supported making tuning adjustments to a number of classes that are over- and under-performing. These adjustments will be implemented with scheduled weekly maintenance in each region (August 19 in this region).

Classes

  • Mage
    • Fire
      • All damage dealt increased by 4%.
      • Flamestrike damage increased by 8%.
  • Paladin
    • Retribution
      • All damage increased by 5%. Does not apply to PvP combat.
  • Warlock
    • Affliction
        • All damage dealt reduced by 3%. Does not affect PvP.
  • Warrior
    • Arms
      • All damage dealt increased by 8%. Does not apply to PvP combat.

Player versus Player

  • The 2-piece bonus from equipping Gladiator’s Medallion and Gladiator’s Emblem now grants an additional 5% stamina in PvP combat.
    • Developers’ note: This is intended to slightly increase the time it takes to kill an enemy in PvP combat, to give players more time to react to incoming burst.
  • Death Knight
    • Anti-Magic Zone reduces magic damage taken by 30% in PvP combat (was 15%)
    • Frost
      • Deathbringer: Reaper’s Mark damage reduced by 25% in PvP combat.
    • Unholy
      • Death Coil damage reduced by 10% in PvP combat.
  • Druid
    • Balance
      • Whirling Stars reduces Celestial Alignment or Incarnation: Chosen of Elune duration by 30% in PvP combat (was 20%).
      • Damage of spells and abilities reduced by 4% in PvP combat.
  • Mage
    • Frostfire: Frostfire Bolt damage reduced by 13% in PvP combat.
    • Frostfire: Isothermic Core’s Comet Storm is called down at 150% effectiveness in PvP combat (was 200%).
    • Arcane
      • Sunfury: Arcane Soul now increases the damage of Arcane Barrage by 5% per stack in PvP (was 15%).
    • Fire
      • Hyperthermia’s stacking damage bonus to Pyroblast and Flamestrike reduced to 5% per stack in PvP combat (was 15%).

I feel like we’re seeing adjustments every other day.

Shadow crash is still bugged to not hit through LoS. The spec feels terrible in PVP and is way too punishing.

A 2 second travel time spell cannot adhere to LoS. Please fix it so shadow priest can enjoy the rework.

So instead of actually addressing the issue which is the LOU tier being way too strong you’d rather aura nerf the spec? I actually have no words here.

Shame.
Their discord reaction to being on the low end was funny.

Edit: nevermind, they’re standing by locking the chat. Its still funny.

I’m not sure it’ll be enough, but thank you.

So should all specs/classes shut down their discords in protest until the devs listen to them? Because Hunters have quite a bit we’d like to discuss.

Thats great. I really like this. Because lets be real. Its not fun getting CC’d and deleted in moments before you’ve even made a move(looking and you mm hunters).

This is not the way to bring Affliction in line with current WarcraftLogs. Affliction is currently over-performing due to the Undermine 4pc, which was not nerfed. Additionally, this is also being reflected on Soul Hunters due to the nature of the fight.

Please look at this tuning and revert it while nerfing the Undermine 4pc instead.

You shouldn’t have caved you should have nerfed them if anything. Zero tolerance for that kind of behavior they displayed.

i dont understand the hate some of you have for ret pallies. rets were never top dps all throughout last seasons in aoe or single. and rets have been consistently dog water in single target, just marginally ok in aoe.

They’re still not happy.

“Were holding strong no unlock until that buff reaches double digits - no lowball offers”

For clarity, do you know whats up with their discord?

Last I checked the Devs dont operate based off the class discords, so you can shut then down if you want, wont make a difference unfortunately

They dont.
But its still hilarious.

It’s not about ret itself it’s the behavior those running the discord are displaying. Don’t care how unhappy you are, closing community channels in some lame attempt to gain a buff is very cringe.

again who gives a flying fart about a discord. i guess if you are terminally online you overly care about a discord
