Class Tuning Incoming – August 12

Over the first few days of Ghosts of K’aresh content, we’ve been closely monitoring class balance and identifying specializations that are beginning to over- or under-perform in group content and in PvP. With scheduled weekly maintenance in each region, we’ll make the following changes.

Classes

Demon Hunter

  • Havoc
    • All ability damage increased by 5%. Does not apply to PvP combat.

Death Knight

  • Frost
    • Obliterate damage reduced by 5%.
    • Rider of the Apocalypse: Mawsworn Menace now increases the damage of Obliterate by 5% (was 10%).
    • Rider of the Apocalypse: Hollow Sentinel’s Wake 2-piece now increases Trollbane’s Obliterate damage by 15% (was 35%).
    • Deathbringer: Exterminate first scythe damage increased by 10%.

Druid

  • Balance
    • All ability damage increased by 8%.
    • Keeper of the Grove: Ornaments of the Mother Eagle 4-piece now accumulates 3% of damage done (was 2%) and Dryad’s Favor is now capped at 10x spellpower (was 6x) and splashes 15% (was 20%) of its damage onto nearby enemies.
    • Elune’s Chosen: Ornaments of the Mother Eagle 2-piece Starfire damage increase changed to 20% (was 25%), and has a 40% chance (was 50%) to launch a Starsurge at 45% effectiveness (was 50%).
    • Elune’s Chosen: Ornaments of the Mother Eagle 4-piece Split Starsurges deal damage at 40% effectiveness (was 80%).
  • Feral
    • Ferocious Bite and Ravage primary target damage increased by 6%.
    • Shred damage increased by 5%.
    • Sabertooth causes Ferocious Bite to increase damage taken from your bleeds and other periodic effects by 6% per combo point (was 5%).
    • Wildstalker: Bloodseeker Vines damage increased by 5%.
  • Restoration
    • Wildstalker: Fixed a bug causing the Ornaments of the Mother Eagle 4-piece bonus to generate extra Symbiotic Blooms for Regrowths cast by Rampant Growth.
    • Wildstalker: Fixed a bug preventing Twin Sprouts from generating extra Bloodseeker Vines or Symbiotic Blooms from the ones created by the Ornaments of the Mother Eagle 4-piece set bonus.
    • Wildstalker: Symbiotic Bloom and Bursting Growth healing increased by 15%.
    • Wildstalker: Ornaments of the Mother Eagle 2-piece bonus increases the rate of Symbiotic Bloom growth by 45% (was 30%).
    • Wildstalker: Ornaments of the Mother Eagle 4-piece now causes Symbiotic Bloom healing to have a 35% (was 20%) chance to trigger Bursting Growth at 100% effectiveness (was 80%).
    • Developers’ notes: The bug involving Rampant Growth was generating a large number of unintended Symbiotic Blooms, which consolidated a lot of Wildstalker’s healing power into the 4-piece and Clearcasting procs. We’ve added healing power to counteract the healing loss from the bug fix.

Now, I usually defend y’all and give you the benefit of the doubt. But we JUST got Class Tuning which you have had months to test. How is it difficult to grab the same formula for the classes that always perform well, cough Paladin cough and paste it over the damage and healing of other classes? It’s been 21 years. How have you not figured out how to balance ALL of the classes by now. Copy and Paste should be the jumping off point.

I would really like to use Frostbane but I love my 2h esthetic too much.
Can we finally just make 2H a DW virtualy identical by changing Might of the Frozen Waste to give Rune of Razorice and extra attack speed instead of the buff to Obliterate.

That being said, I’m really enjoying Frost right now.

Everything ive seen has Windwalker underperforming quite a bit. I really hope this is something that hasnt gone unnoticed. Maybe we get better with the tier set but as we sit right now ww monk is definitely bottom tier.

Sad to see brewmaster nerfs. Good dps players were still doing twice as much damage as brew. Isn’t it time to admit that gutting tank dps was a bad decision?

Not too sad to see the resto Druid bug fix, but that should have come in a month ago. That’s not a cool change to make the day the season starts.

Brother it’s m0s and delves. There is absolutely 0 accurate data you can ascertain from this.

Ouch, hopefully the buffs make up for this since high HPS was all resto druids had going for them to put them in “s-tier.” Their damage is low (and requires a lot more effort to do less damage than something like pres), they’re not a damage mitigation spec like disc and their utility is alright but not at the top.

So Prot warrior and Brewmaster had a chance at being better in M+ than VDH and Prot paladin but we couldn’t have that happening?

Good to see Arms Warrior got something to help it’s lacking ST.

?

why tho?

Come on…. Resto Druid utility is S tier. Battle rez, roots, soothe, interrupt, speed boost, knock back, and the best raid buff in the game. Maybe resto shaman has more depending on the comp, but all of the other healers are behind Druid for utility.
