Class that you love thematically, but can’t play?

Feral. I want to love it, but I’m too stupid to be productive on it.

Subtlety Rogue is the most confusing for me. I can play all other specs just fine.

Believe it or not, monk.

I love the idea of my troll monk flipping around and kung-fu-ing his enemies to death, but when I play him, it feels like a rogue that can’t stealth, with no finishers. Really, really disappointing.

Casters, mostly.

I have a case of drooling melee brain.

I made some jank macros that probably aren’t optimal, but they help me a lot.

Ah yes, a fellow zugzug.

I suppose I could also add rogues, but I at least partly level them. I just run out of patience. When it comes to melee classes, I guess I’d just rather run in axe-swinging than be patient with stealth or finesse. Less Bruce Lee, more Bruce Banner.

Warlock.

Thematically they’re awesome. In game, they feel like gimped mages.

I like monks but I don’t like some part of each spec. I like the super kicking idea. However WW monk mastery is annoying to me as someone who loves to play WoW as close to cookie clicker as possible. Brewmaster has a lot of buttons which is fine for other people but not me, I am not about that keyboard piano style. I don’t get MW in general.

I know what you mean. My first priest I played like a cleric from d&d and used my spells sparingly. I could not figure out why I was having such a hard time soloing and leveling.

I played combat from vanilla until the end of WoD. I had zero alts. It breaks my heart that I don’t enjoy outlaw.

I’d say I’m reasonably good with all classes and specs without being great. Except for Preservation Evoker. I’d see huge healing by others, yet am hot garbage when trying myself. To the point that I get mocked because Im so bad at it and no-one can believe how bad I am.

This was 6 months ago, as Ive just returned from one of my regular 6 to 12 month breaks, so maybe things changed as Ive not tried it again since returning.

That said, I tried Shadow Priest and single target do well but AOE is terrible, even though all the write-ups say “Just do your single target rotation and you will be fine”.

I still need to try this. Wish me luck

Seriously, good luck. Single target I was getting great numbers with poor gear at level 70 (ilvl is maybe 380 or something as I stopped gearing up a long time ago), but the AOE I am just clueless where the big numbers are to come from.

DPS. Yes dps. I gravitate towards tanks and dedicate what little I’ve got to working on that role. Used to be a mix of healing and tanking, but that was last done over a decade ago.

Good DPS playing is straight magic to watch.

Hats off to you. Tanking is terrifying to me. Memorizing routes seems so hard.

That’s kind of you. I think after a few runs it starts to become familiar. And I know I’ve always got good pointers from other players at the end of a mythic about a more optimal route - and then there plenty of sites that can help with preprogrammed routes.

Me too. Tried spriest this season for the tier gear and while single target was fun being so high on dps, aoe seems to elude me.

Either trash doesn’t last long enough or I’m busy dispelling or I didn’t time my cds to the pulls right.

I think a lot of their dps is coming from having as many dots up as possible (but crash only hits 8? And you have to single target the rest) and then pumping mind blasts for the voidy Bois as this tier set is heavily focused on your apparitions.

I probably need to time my set bonus better so the 80% bonus to apparitions lands when I’m doing mindblast *2,voidform, mindblast *2.

Definitely Rogue. I don’t have the skillz for it. Healing I can do…tanking I can do…most DPS I can do…but Rogue ain’t in my nature, I guess
