There is a very serious problem in WoW right now involving class specs, and balance. The playerbase is hellbent on having specs that were designed only for pvp with simple rotations be dominant in all pillars of content, creating a balance nightmare. It is time to just get rid of the specs. Every class gets one spec for each roll they fill Tank, Healer, or dps. The spell and play diversity becomes talent choices. (Example. For mage you have 1 spec because it does not tank or heal. With frost, arcane, and fire modifier talents) This will make game balance much more simple and stop the infighting amongst classes demanding an impossible balance scenario.) If one spell makes a class too dominant you just nerf the one spell instead of having to completely rebalance 2 or 3 flavors of dps. And it cuts down on same class competition. I think this will make the balancing job much easier as a whole. Pvp content should require sacrificing damage for utility and defence via talent choices. I realise this is a little TLDR. But there would cut down so much BS for Blizzard in balancing that even though this would be wildly unpopular on paper I think it would make for a sincerely better player experience.
