Class Specific Xmogs Don't Count?

With warbands allowing better xmog farming, I thought I’d try to go get some sets from Tomb of Sargeras. But it appears that you can’t the xmog for pieces that aren’t your class? Is this correct? So if I’m on my hunter, and rogue pieces drop that say “class: rogue” canI or can I not obtain that transmog on my hunter?

If it drops as an item you can.

If it drops as a token you can’t.

Correct. People have been complaining about this in the beta for months. It’s such a weird hill for Blizzard to die on. They’ve carved out an exception for this and I honestly don’t know why.

Thing is, if your armor drops as tokens, those are Warbound. You can get those. But in raids like Nighthold, Hellfire Citadel, MC, BWL or Vault of Archavon you get class-specific drops and those you can’t learn.

Why? I have no idea.

And they never have counted and they have always said they never counted.

Wow, that’s ridiculous. Some of the best sets in the game aren’t token based, so I still have to farm them on the class I need them on? Why would they make that exception? That makes no sense.

This is wrong. CLASS specific Items can not be learned unless on the class they are meant for. THey have said this from day one.

Yes. But why? Why carve out this exception? Tokens allow you to get class-specific sets. Why not just let you learn class-specific drops? They’ve never explained why they intentionally made this exception.

Actually they have. IT was to maintain the classes’s fantasy. That is the reason they gave. IT is a crappy one, but it is all we got.

Have fun still needing to farm on every alt!

To be fair why does everything have to be centered around being convenient and easily accessible. My death knight shouldn’t be able to learn the holy priest item with angel wings.

It feels like with this limitation still intact, the change itself is kind of pointless. It certainly waters it down a lot.

Now explain why tokens, which also give class-specific sets, are Warbound. How is that consistent with the class fantasy?

As someone who just farmed a fair amount of raids, it’s been great for me so far.

Nope.

Class-specific appearances are an exception and will still be collectible only by that specific class.

You still can’t xmog to the tier unless you’re that class so why does it matter what class I got it with?

Because you still have to be on the class to use them.

Because I need everything and I need it yesterday!

Because they said so. that is why.

and that is the stupid part they market the warband system so hard, and it fail so far in pre patch and the whole point of the warbank bank is so you can put class specific mogr in the bank and give it to specific class to learn it or just have any class capable to lean any class mog.

The whole warband system doesn’t change to fact how annoying it is to farm old farm for class specific mogs as I still have to do run them on all the specific class to obtain the mog for that class.

That is a major fail on blizzard’s part.

Is it a trust me bro or there is a source you have readily available?
