With that class survey several months ago, I had thought of specs I would love to see and find interesting in game. Of course, I doubt any of these would see the light of day, but hey. A man can dream, right?
Evoker: Tank: Earth Warder. Fighting Style: fencing based. Favored weapon(s): One handed weapon+Off hand Relic or Dagger. Generates barriers much like a warriors Ignore Pain with the powers of the Black and Blue Aspects. Intellect Based tank.
Mage: Tank: Spellbreaker. Fighting Style: Gladiator (With staff and shield anyway). Sword and Shield Intellect based tank that switches âstancesâ based on the three specs. Fire for single target damage over time, Frost for armor and defensives, and Arcane for Area of Effect damage and denial.
Warrior (Or Rogue): Support: War Chanter. Uses twin swords in combat and boosts allies with chants or songs. Fighting style inspiration is the blade dancers that use scimitars.
Hunter: Support: Tinker. Uses engineering gizmos to boost allies in combat, extra perks with Mechanical pets active. Maybe a medical dart to heal if needed, or a Stim Dart as a Combat revive.
Warlock: Healer: Enlightened Fel. (Name Work in Progress.) Offer light based demons and uses Holy Fel to heal allies. Or could be a support Spec.
Tell me what yâall think. Good, Bad. I just wanted to get these thoughts out.
I think that survey was a hoax but I enjoy a good armchair ideas thread.
Iâve always thought a warlock tank that puppets demons to do the ranking would be really cool, probably too complex for Blizz to pull off even though itâd basically just be like any other pet class.
Also forever waiting for rogue swashbuckler dodge/stagger tank. I think you could do a system similar to a monk where damage is deferred into luck and you have to offload it with combo points.
None of those before a Shaman Tank with an Earthshield Totem, and other similar damage mitigation spells and totems.
Also, Iâd love to see a Mage DPS similar to Enhancement Shaman, that both hit you and cast spells - a combat mage, as it were. Maybe itâs better as a tank, though.
I hope they take the entire support concept and jettison it into the sun.
I would like that too, but I think itâs really unlikely the pure DPS specs will remain pure DPS and thereâs not really any other class to add that to other than mage.
I expect mage is going to get some stupid Time healer spec and itâs going to suck and be annoying.
They already have. It was an experiment and Ion said in the interview that it failed and they wonât be adding any new support specs to the game. What boggles my mind is that augmentation is still a support spec. Why didnât they change it to a proper dps spec that uses black/red to be an alternative to the red/blue that dev uses?
I really hope so. I canât think of anything more disappointing than seeing âX class gets a new spec!â and finding out itâs stupid support garbage.
No it wouldnât. Itâd turn support into a de facto 4th role that would make forming groups more complicated and make getting groups as DPS more difficult.
It just depends on your group make up, if you have 2 guaranteed pumpers a support is helpful, but if you are skeptical about how your 2 DPS will perform, then its better to bring 3 DPS. The case for more support makes more sense to me as M+ dam is exponential higher as you climb.
I think many would be disappointed if Tinker was a Hunter Spec rather than itâs own Class.
Much the same if Bard was released as a Rogue Spec and not a Class.
