Class reworks, huh?

It should be exciting news. But I’m worried.

  • Poor communication
  • Bad trees that stay that way for months
  • Testing feedback completely disregarded

I don’t know, fellas. I want a rework, and some specs REALLY need one, but this could be a disaster that kills your favorite spec for an entire opening patch.

I dont really care, if it reduces bloat, lowers the skill floor and is designed around the average gamer i dont think itll be bad, now if they purge abilities without considering rotations then i see a problem, i think everything should be dumbed down and less info should be fed to players through addons so maybe i got a bias, I just dont believe people need 3-4hotbars of abilities to be optimal, 2 at absolute most. Players nowadays say they need all these combat related addons. The truth is that blizz needs to just stop overdesigning content in order to make it “harder” and reduce bloat in order to make classes more approachable, I think OBR was a bandaid fix to a bigger problem in the game tbh

And from what i seen it doesnt look like any real reworks happened, kinda looked underwhelming to me

This is how I feel as well. I’m hoping for a good redesign, that feels good to play. I don’t think we can make much of a judgement about the system until we actually see it through.

They’re just gutting the classes again to make them braindead. They aren’t going to listen to feedback and it’s going to be like WoD.

I like all the places where it says “Apex talents will be available for testing in a future build.”
This just means they won’t show up til mid or late beta.

Can’t be any worse than it is now. Post-WoD classes don’t deserve to be preserved. They already got bulldozed once and rebuilt into something else, and I’ve never grown to love the rebuilt versions.

These changes are designed around the far left side of the bell curve players not the average gamer.

Designed around the players that don’t actually do any content where they need to do proper rotations or anything.

It’s so nonsensical.

“This spec is too complex for Jimmy who only does quests, LFR, and delves up to tier 6, better gut the class just for him”

Survival has 2-3 rotational buttons after this. Literally 123.

Shadow is losing the majority of its movement gcds and yet somehow keeps Shadowfiend? Such a worthless ability.

You guys are ignoring the fact that addons are being disabled. With that comes less tools to track certain stuff. So your spec has to be made with that in mind.

They can add complexity later once they establish a good baseline with no addons.

Only combat addons, and only in instanced “competitive” content.

A number of players have been asking for the game to be pruned even here on the forums. The ability bloat was noticeable on a majority of the classes, with a couple of the classes getting to ridiculous levels with their utility, defensives, ect. Shaman comes to mind, where some players were actively seeking out passives, just to avoid putting more abilities on their bars.

Literally has no impact on rotational gameplay for the two specs mentioned.

If you would like to test Midnight alpha shadow, just unspec out of / dont use 2/3 of your spells.

Enhance shaman is like the 1 outlier and even that was toned down recently.

We don’t need the game dumbed down for people who can’t handle having more than 1 action bar.

You overestimate how good the average player is ngl, These changes arent that bad

Exactly. Shadow’s getting gutted and it’s no where near bloated in its current iteration.

Classes are less being “reworked” and more being lobotomized

Survival with these changes is three buttons. One of which is on a 15 second cooldown.

Two buttons the vast majority of the time.

I think they expect the complexity/difficulty fetishists to raise a stink about the coming simplifications.

Me? I’ll raise a glass in toast.

Obviously the devs disagree. I think they went and looked at the data and were appalled.
