Would be cool to see a return of class weapons where you do class quest chains to unlock them. instead of artifact power you just select the runes on your weapon instead of on your gear. This would entail unlocking the runes and then being able to swap them as you like once youve unlocked them.
No thank you. Getting new weapon upgrades is a huge part of gearing in vanilla.
Wasn’t this one of the biggest complaints players had as WoW progressed?
Hard pass. I like raiding and getting cool weapons that way.
Ashbringer isnt legendary if everyone has it.
I would not mind having, as long as it for each class and as long as it doable without having loot priority on any sort of Raid Event - some sort of item - as long at isn’t BIS forever - it can hold a candle - like a level 60 item you would use but there would be a replacement on the first or second raid: Class Quests are kinda of a thing from Classic that were left undone because - and the devs said so themselves - that developing stuff that would be played only by one of the classes felt “dumb” at the time, since they could be developing stuff for all classes.
That being said, SOD is sort of a throwback to the Class Quests and that can be kinda cool. Getting Benediction / Anathema on my priest, as a kid, felt as my first real epic experience in WoW. Paladins felt happy about their mounts, same as warlocks, and hunters loved their bows, just like warriors and paladins loved their quel’serrar and so one. I think quel’serrar was kinda of a mistake, out of the items I’ve mentioned, for being too generic being two classes.
Those things are fun - as long as all classes get to have fun, I’m okay with it.
Sounds like a boring way to get a weapon. Getting something from a raid is way more rewarding.
That said, class quests for strong weapons would be kinda cool. I always really liked the ST items but felt like they were too low level to be relevant at endgame, especially when so many of the trinkets had powerful, unique effects. Shamans got dope gloves and a staff, but nobody seemed to use them because they would get outclassed too quickly.
Epic weapon quests like the ones from Everquest would be dope. A lot of them werent the best weapons in the game, but had cool procs or clicky effects for different situations.
Could be super cool if every class had a long and arduous quest chain that required raids and groups to complete various parts. Priest staff and hunter bow are good examples!
