with the change to artifact weapons no longer being specific to specs for mogs i think its also time to allow people to use their class mounts regardless of the spec. since at the end of the day its a class mount and not a spec mount. this is a change i really hope we can see in shadowlands!

Paladin’s four chargers can be used regardless of active spec. Perhaps this is because each spec is pretty similar in motif (Light-based combatant). I could see many classes allowing this across specs, though, even from an RP perspective.
Praise be to the light if I can use my derpy owl tiger with a diaper in any color.

What mounts are locked behind specs?.. i didnt kno there was any
I never quite understood why some class mounts have a single color while others have multiple colors, then you have those multi color ones restricted to a single spec while others are available to all specs. Warlock is weird as you get one from it, but then have to go out and collect the other two, such as from a Broken Shore rare mob.
Shaman and mage come to mind. Might be others too.

Add Warrior and priest to that
Just lift all cosmetic restrictions in general.
Serves no purpose other than gatekeeping player creativity.

Shaman has a fire elemental and resto/enhancement share an air elemental. Neither can share.
The enh mount is white and the resto one is light blue/green so they are different appearances, just not as visually striking as the difference between the two of them and the ele version.
I’d love to use all my spec versions regardless of what spec I’m in. It didn’t make sense to me that some classes have that restriction but others do not. The only difference in my class hall mount versions is the color. And none of them are really thematic or lore specific for each spec.
On my hunter and warlock I can use all three colours no problem. I didn’t even realize this was a thing.
Certain classes’ alternate colored mounts are spec dependent.
Why they made some classes able to purchase additional variants and others dependent on spec is beyond me.
