Class Fantasy - Winners and Losers

What specs do you guys think capture the spirit of the spec, and which ones fall short? This is meant to be unbiased and I just want to see your guys opinion on how blizzard has handled your class

I think Top 3:
1.Ret Pally
2.Frost Mage
3.Frost DK

Bottom 3:
34.Enhance Shaman
35.Assassination Rogue
36.Marksman Hunter
just my opinion

Top 5 best
Best to worst

Ret Paladin
Frost Mage
Holy Priest
Havoc Demon Hunter
Elemental Shaman
Bonus: Unholy Death Knight

Top 5 worst
Best to worst

Frost Death Knight
Marksman Hunter
Brewmaster Monk
Survival hunter
Mistweaver Monk

I think prot/holy are better fantasy then ret.

My picks for good
Fury war
Demo lock
Prot pally

My picks for bad
Outlaw rogue
Survival hunter
Enh shammy

Yeah Outlaw rogues are fun to play but from a class fantasy perspective I don’t really get it. If your gun is so strong why aren’t you just shooting people the whole time lol

Top:
Frost Mage - Everything about it just feels cold, icy, rigid.

Feral Druid - It does exactly what Id’ expect from a large cat. Gameplay could be more fluid but the fantasy is spot on.

Destruction Warlock - Rain of fire. Chaos Bolts. Infernos. What else could you want?

Blood DK - I wish this was melee DPS and not Tank because its full of flavor.

Bottom:
Demo Warlock - I honestly don’t mind the spec, but Demonology Warlock? It’s more of a “Impology”. Master of summoning demons and 90% of what we summon is lowly Imps.

Outlaw Rogue - It kind of feels like a Pirate when you’re playing it, but when you’re playing with or against it, it just feels like basic old Rogue.

BM Hunter - Master of beasts? I don’t get that from the spec. The beast is the master of you.

Middle range nether high or low.

Ret pallies belong on horses not wheelchairs

Bottome 3
:outlaw rogue
:frost dk
:enhancement shaman

There are only one real answer: druid!

listen my felguard with gavel is all i ever wanted w/ my pet class fantasy. it’s so cool looking.

Necro but a fun one, I’ll play!

Top 3:
Feral druid- watching a good feral in pvp is a joy to behold, biting, pouncing shapeshifting, crowd controlling, exactly what I’d imagine <3
Fire mage- even more so with legion artifact, so many explosions
Havoc DH- fel rush, meta, eye beam, zoomies, everything works well with the theme.

Bottom 3:
Disc priest- supposed to be mix of shadow and light but that’s never really been fleshed out.
Survival hunter- nothing says wilderness survival expert like, er, throwing bombs at people.
Balance druid- moonkin form, eclipse, hurricane / no hurricane, they never really had a plan for these.

Outlaw rogue and Survival Hunter are the big offenders to me

They’re just massive hodgepodge specs that make zero sense

As a Frost Mage, I do agree with it feeling good from a fantasy perspective! The spell effects, the sounds…it really fits.

My pick for worst? I have to vote Disc. Priest. A Disc. Priest is supposed to be balancing the madness of Shadow with the power of the Light, but instead they just seem like an off-brand version of Holy.

Think Archbishop Benedictis. That’s my ideal vision of Disc. Priest. POWAH!

SOMETIME AROUND LEGION, IN A WOW TEAM MEETING ON THE NEW SPECIALIZATION DIRECTION

“How should we make survival hunter? I mean… What do survivalist, hunter-gatherer societies in real life do?”

“Oh, I know this! Don’t those folks on North Sentinel Island traverse their jungle home with grappling hooks, run up to animals and fight them with a spear hand-to -hand instead of throwing it, and occasionally pull out a one handed miniature crossbow to shoot poison bolts?”

“Uhmm… Actually I don’t think…”

“BRILLIANT JENKINS! YOU’VE CAPTURED THE SPIRIT OF ANCIENT HOMINID HUNTERS PERFECTLY. NO ONE COULD POSSIBLY DISAGREE OR THINK THIS MAKES NO SENSE!”
