What made you decide what class you wanted to play? What impacted your decision?

When I first started, I had a friend who already played who told me “This is the class you need to play”. So I did… for the next 10 years. At this point I’ve played every class but Death Knight at max level at some point, so I just choose what to main based off of what I think will give me the most enjoyment over the life of an expansion.
I was a Rogue main from BC-WoD. I picked Rogue because the value of stealth was so high and liberating that it didn’t feel right to play without.
WoD-Legion I mained this gal, a Priest. I felt like I didn’t give other classes a fair shot, and wanted something new. WoD came with a free boost and I thought what the heck? Let me use it on a random healing class. It was an eeny, meeny, miny, moe moment. During WoD I’ve also created and leveled most of my new chars, finally trying out different classes, but I loved Priest.
Then as of Shadowlands I picked Druid. The Maw broke me. I could not mount. Well, I decided I’ll be playing Alliance, I wanted stealth back, AND I could travel at 100%.
I ended up loving Druid a lot more than I thought. Both balance and resto are incredible fun. But it’s ultimately the fun of the class + utility that did it for me.
