It’s very odd to say the iconic train the blue, yet it’s pink. But pally is Pink!

No it is baseline in retail and most of wow at this point.
I think TBC is when it changed.
Pallies and Shamans were both pink in vanilla. When they became available on both sides in TBC, Shamans became an aquamarine color, a blue-ish green, fairly close to what Monks got later. Then in WotLK Shamans were changed to the darker blue we all know them by now.
During TBC classic I used an addon to change Shamans back to the aquamarine color for fun and nostalgia. I also like the color anyway.
