I’m completely stuck between enhanc/ele and WW for main, i’m literally thinking about it for days in a row without making the decision. I’m only PVE, I like aesthetic aspects of the game (class fantasy, spells, immersion, etc) and both are excelent on it, I like the rotation of both (and actually enhanc and WW are pretty similar). Help me decide if possible!
shaman has the best visuals in the game imo but really no one can tell you what you should main. blizz balances well enough that every spec can do all content up to a mythic level so everything is viable now. Just play what’s fun and get a vault reward or two on both classes each week.
Pick Shaman as your main. Why you ask?
A. Shaman has 2 dps specs. So if one is bad, you can go the other.
B. Shaman has better looking spells
C. Shamans are better in the sense of tuning. Monks are the least represented class in the game so Blizzard doesn’t care about Monk tuning as much
D. Shaman has bloodlust/heroism
E. Shaman has totems & more cc
F. Shaman has unlimited fast movement speed (ghost wolf form)
G. Shaman has Reincarnation passive which lets them resurrect every 30 mins (self brez)
H. Shaman has multiple elementals they can summon depending on what the group needs

I agree with everyone here, and Im a Monk main. If you know you dont ever want to tank, then Shaman is the better class. Better scaling with gear, cooler transmogs, and very unique to WoW. Im into tanking and healing, tho. So Im pretty limited on the classes I can take. But I chose Monk because its the class with the most buttons to press, and one of the toughest to master.
I also agree with everyone here and would suggest shaman. I have main-ed monk at times but the problem with monk is that it’s a heartbreaker of a class. It’s the most fun class in the game to play imo but it ends up with bugs, bad tuning and poor spec design more than the other classes. Lack of popularity really has hurt it.
Go with monk if there is a chance you want to tank though.
Enhancement is moving your maces with a thunder effect, literally a warrior arms with a polygon effect. Elemental is extremely disgustingly frustrating for any kind of dungeon content because of the way you do dmg (extremely cooldown reliant + extremely disgustingly poor single target if talented to do AOE + earthquake being stacked dmg and the tank moves ads + having to start a war with Russia just to do a normal melee damage), i don’t understand why you just prefer shaman, i’m very atempted to go monk.
Mobility, immunity, burst AOE, burst DPS, AoE stun, single target stun, 4 defensives, builder gap closer and absurdly engaging rotation.

From someone who mainly does M+
Monk def feels stronger and easier. Although i have not played it in depth, the experience is less frustrating then when i geared my shaman. Also has quite a few tools for M+.
Enhance has more of a fun factor imo. Something about chain lightning & frost shocking packs. I like that you can spec into thunderstorm. BL is always a plus! And as you mentioned, you can spec into Ele when you want to change things up a bit.
It feels like you’re describing DH here. Except that last bit.
Regarding monk, when did we get an immunity and ST stun? Also, bar Diffuse magic, our defensives are more like layers of maybe we don’t die. Realistically (even in keys), our mobility keeps us alive.
I don’t know, after doing a Nokhud 13 with windwalker I realized that even the rotation being extremely fun, the high APM makes you get tired in small time (not phisicaly tired but tired of repeatition itself, I wouldn’t say bored, no chance), maybe the fact that Elemental is a bit more fast paced is good in long term

WW is a M+ slave, and it’s arguably the best content it has, followed by raiding. WW in PVP is only fun if you can absolutely master the spec and become an unkillable (see: slippery) glass cannon. Otherwise, you’re going to have a bad time.

I don’t do PvP content, just some random BG’s for fun haha only thing i know is that’s the most fun and dynamic rotation of all specs by far, you look like a complete psychopath when playing, like i dunno war fury
