How are they going to balance the classes in classic wow? I hope they don't use the same system that they do in retail bfa wow.
It will be Vanilla balance.

Maybe they use the balance system they had in Vanilla 1.12
I’m not a game dev by any means. But they could try just a 1:1 copy of a certain patch that was in vanilla as reference. Possibly 1.12

A lot of specs just need numerical changes to resources like mana used per spell to be competitive, tanks would require a bit more finesse, taunt, better itemization and defense gear would go a long way.

They can't even balance Live's homogeneous classes with 0 class identity and utility, so what makes you think they'd be able to balance Vanilla's heterogeneous classes WITH class identity and utility.
Vanilla's balance was designed to be team play oriented.
Depending on the scenario (raid/dungeon/world pvp etc.), synergy was created when certain classes got together, and it was pretty balanced that way.
It's not a one man's show like it is on live.
When are you folks going to get that?

There will be no class changes in classic WoW. Not just because the community doesn't want changes, but because without Metzen to fire the nerf gun the devs cannot allocate buffs or nerfs.

If they balance the classes totally, they'll have to retune everything else and the next thing you know, its not classic anymore.
