Y’all really gonna re release classic and still not give paladins a taunt or give ret paladins an actual active ability to use? Why are classes not being tweaked at all when its obv it could sweeten the gameplay and make things even fresher. Missed opportunity imho. Just gonna be a repeat of ele shamans one shotting groups of players at blacksmith.

That is exactly what they are going to do, yes.
Most of the issues with classes are not things that can be solved with a few tweaks. All that would accomplish, if anything, is to replace 1 class’ dominance with another class being dominant.
Ret Paladins aren’t a dumpster fire because they just need a few tweaks and were undertuned. They’re a dumpster fire because we’re trying to make a defensive healing hybrid do respectable damage.
That’s like trying to make a pig fly. It’s not gonna work unless you strap a rocket to it, or redesign the pig entirely.

No way giving paladins the ability to cast exorcism on any non player target would break the game. It might not fix the class but it would make it a whole lot more fun to play.

That’s why I said “if anything”, because it’s entirely possible the changes would amount to not actually changing anything about how SoM plays out.
Exorcism has such a long cooldown I can’t even say it seems like it would make the class any more fun to push 1 button every 15 seconds. You get more button pushes out of spamming Judgement.
All y’all so obsessed with meta this meta that. Its a game, Let everyone have fun! I spent all of classic healing on this paladin because I was told I couldn’t tank raids and I couldn’t DPS as Ret. I have a BIS phase 6 tanking set for this paladin its still useless cause no taunt, no mana regen. Thats not a good thing? Why defend terrible game design choices from more than a decade ago. Youd be suprised how much 1 more button every 15 seconds can add to the class. It would be huge for us. All 3 specs could benefit from exo being available

My whole point is that giving Paladins a taunt or letting them use Exorcism isn’t suddenly going to make raids accept you as a tank or a DPS. You’re still gonna be told to put on the dress and heal, especially with fights now being longer and mana being more of an issue.
Again: The issues with classes in Classic are fundamental. They are not something that can be fixed with a few tweaks.
The concern about balance is more so if you attempt to attach the rocket to the aforementioned pig in attempt to make it fly anyway even though it was never designed to do that.

Everybody wants to have fun but you keep talking about the meta and trying to raid as a non-healer as a Paladin, so I keep responding about those things.
Other than that everybody has their own ideas as to what would be fun or not. As somebody who loves the whole Paladin theme, I imagine my ideas on what would make Retribution more fun would not be terribly popular as they would involve doubling down on the support aspect of the class rather than giving it better damage output or more buttons to push.
It mostly comes down to “everybody has their own ideas of what to change, why should we do the one that you specifically want?”.

I just want an actual offensive ability to use.
You have Judgement of Righteousness or Command if all you want is a button to push for on demand damage. That’s why I don’t really see the point in adding another 1 button to push every 15 seconds.
Granted they’re not high damage abilities, but if you don’t care about meta or being accepted in a raid then it’s still an offensive ability to use.
I guess there’s also Consecration, even if it’ll burn your mana super fast.

I wouldn’t take much notice of him,. Dude played for 2 weeks and thinks he has some clue about the game. I agree with you, class balance would make classic a hell of a lot more fun. People getting salty about a 15 year old meta changing is ridiculous.
Claiming it’s going to morph the game into retail, regardless of how much a class gets buffed or nerfed it will have no impact on how classic plays, the world, dungeons, raids and battlegrounds are what makes classic classic, we’ve already seen them make changes to the raids, and most of the streamers have said that MC and ony are now… Wait for it… Fun! Imagine making changes that make the game more fun.
Replaying the same class/spec and REEing on the forums that the game will be broken if God forbid your class is no longer the best at dps or the best at PvP or the best at healing does not contribute to fun. It provides for a stale meta that is over 10 years old, I say leave the staleness behind on classic era and let the SoM game style incorporate a bit of spice.

Sabetha, I played classic paladin to its potential. I cleared every raid with my guild the first week it was out. Besides molten core cause pally was slow as heck to lvl. I was what you’d call a tryhard/no life all of classic. I built numerous ret sets,prot sets, hybrid sets meme sets. My bank is littered with raid loot. The spells your talking about are not enough to make people reroll paladins again. The only ones playing paladin again will be meta slave holy paladins/salvbots forced into the role. AGAIN.

the meta is already changing thanks to WBs being removed and the new anti-melee mechanics being added to almost every fight. you got your wish. you should be saying “thank you, blizzard”.

Once warriors and rogues are geared regardless of mechanics they will come out on top. I wouldn’t comment on raiding if was you, seeing as your max LVL character is LVL 20, your 0 minutes of raiding =/= knowledge of raiding.

SoM will be different enough from classic era, and tons of people will enjoy it. The end.
You might enjoy it but others won’t and will see it as the same game different year. When your standing in SW or Org 6 months in and its empty you can come back here and pm me. Ill tell you i told you so.

Your level 70 rogue does not impress anyone seeing as you most likely bought a boost and lvlingfrom 58-70 only takes about a week if you have a life. Even if you leveled from 1-70, most of us leveled multiple 60s in classic, raided and pvped on multiple classes and experienced probably thousands of hours of gameplay. What did you achieve? LVL 20 then you quit?
