Class Balance Adjustment Conspiracy

I believe adjustments are coming, they just aren’t announced any more than 1-2 days in advance.

This is to prevent the overpowered classes from knowing they have to push rating hard before the nerfs, and upsetting the ladder even further.

At least I hope this is what’s going on.

What exactly do you think needs to be fixed? When ever I am watching streams, I see a lot of different comps playing on top ratings. Isn’t that what we want to achieve with balancing actually?

And just in case. You do know that Arcane Mage is one of those overpowered specs, don’t you? At least it is doing way too good in shuffle for its popularity and we don’t need to talk about its 3s potential with rogue I think.

What do you expect Blizzard to change? I mean sure; there are changes I would make or you would make but I think we all know Blizzard is hesitant to change the classes we think need changes.

Stop watching streams and start playing the game and it will be evident to you.

rdruid and sub rogue are the main offenders that if they got tuned the game would feel so much better.

rdruid is such an extreme outlier that if half of the rdruids above 2400 got deleted, they would still be the most represented healer.

grove guardians is beyond broken

sub rogue just has too much utility and dam to never be bad. it’s hard to play it well but if you queue into a good sub rogue you’re probably just going to get farmed.

Yep. Maybe bring DH/BM down just a bit too

I think realistically this has been one of their best expansions in trying to push out changes. The real barriers are:

  1. When is too much? If they do changes every week some people just feel like it’s an endless carousel they burn out on

  2. What’s imbalanced to top end PvPers vs. average PvPers is a massive difference. Most people who casually enjoy PvP likely don’t even do that much arena

  3. Blizz can get stuck in this mindset at times of nerfing things instead of buffing things. I think they’ve improved on this a LOT but in the past I felt like what makes classes feel enjoyable is feeling powerful and it’s hard to feel powerful when you can’t kill enemies because everyone that’s strong keeps getting nerfed vs. buffing others up to that level.

  4. The PvP team’s only meaningful contact outside of other WoW devs imo is certain top ranked PvPers in the AWC. I think they still maintain this general mindset that WoW is an “esport” and as a result they try not to change too much right before AWC starts. I think they also use AWC as a litmus test to “prove” what’s really strong vs. weak. It’s one thing if arena forums or twitter users complain, it’s another if something sweeps every game.
didn’t stop them from NOT nerfing mage/rogue for what felt like 2+ years straight of AWC domination BFA-SL

Mage rogue was out of control for years upon years, this is the first time I’ve played the game where I don’t have to deal with that bull

Idk why I said “from nerfing” instead of “from not nerfing” which is what I meant to say. Mb, 100% opposite, was referring to the egregious overtuning of rogue and especially fire mage for what felt like 3+ years straight.

Ohhhh okay now it makes sense, I remember quitting S3/S4 Legion bc Fire Mage/Rog and Turbo, I just came back to game but it’s nice that even with Rogue as good as it is, that Rog/Mage doesn’t seems to exist nearly as much as it did.

iirc arcane/frost were the kings then. Not that fire didn’t get some spotlight bfa foward but arcane and frost were nutty in end of legion.

I also play the game, feels pretty much the same. I see a lot of different comps, so beside overtuned rogue cc I don’t see much where I say its terrible bad.

So how about you tell me what you want them to change from an objective point of view.

Well, I agree with rogue cc including outlaw, not only sub.

I also agree that rdruid feels somewhat too strong. On the other hand I do think that rdruid enables a lot more comp because it is so strong.

My conspiracy theory is they intentionally make specs OP for a while and then rotate them out. That keeps the hamster wheel spinning with people perpetually rerolling fotm, keep them subbed with something to do.

I mean if a dh didnt reach 2400 at the very least since week 1 idk what to say

My conspiracy is that they are intentionally shifting the balance every patch to milk players for the money they spend on tokens (to buy boosts from others) or from the straight up character boosts from the shop.

Actual logical thought

And when a ret didn’t get at least glad and legend in season 1 idk what to say either.

No flame of course, but if you’re sitting in a glass house, you should go to the cellar to take a :poop: !!!

I got 2400 in rss before the rework and stopped playing altogether. Never cared for legend so yea

And what about Glad? Was basically free for Ret! But let me guess, you didn’t care! But why do you call people bad, if they don’t push?

Because there is a world of difference getting there with pre rework ret compared to current havoc. Do I even have to explain this
