Clarification: how does SRing 2 of the same item suppose to work?

So, in ZG I soft reserved 2 idols.

5 dropped in total.

Now let’s say I reserved just 1. I believe I should get 1 roll at each idol. If I win any of them, my roll is consumed and I no longer roll.

If we follow that logic and times it by 2 I think I should be able to roll 2 times per idol and I can win up to 2 idols. Is this correct?

The raid I was in tonight rolled 3 of them at the end. I rolled 2 times per idol (6 rolls total) and came highest on my 6th roll. But the ML gave the idol to his guilty and told me “sorry you could only roll twice total”

So what is it?

My guild would then have everyone who SR’d roll, and the top 3 rolls get one. Since you SR’d twice, you would get two rolls for a chance to be in that top 3.

I have only ever been in groups where 2 SRs just means you can roll twice each time until you win one, and then you’re not allowed to roll until everyone else who SR’d one gets one. This includes SoD and original classic.

Yeah, Idols are usually +1… meaning you can only get one till everyone else gets one. Unless you run with a guild and everyone agrees to let you have two beforehand. =) How I got my 4… =) lol

If you SRd dagger of doom and helm of destruction and the first boss dropped the dagger

You’d roll once right? And if you won it, you’d get it,

If the last boss dropped helm of destruction you’d get to roll even though you already won the dagger of doom right?

Why is this item treated any differently?

In keeping with the above analogy, idols should be rolled off one at a time just like other loot. If you 2xSR you should get to roll twice for each item and if you win one, you can only roll 1 time for each remaining item.

The roll does not consume the SR. If it did it would mean if you won the dagger of doom, you’d have to pass on helm of destruction.

I think you got caught up in some guild shenanigans. Did they link idol and say top 3 wins? Then you should only get 2 rolls. Like for HM hakkar. Then let’s say you didn’t get any of those three you can still roll on the other 2 idols 2x until you get your one SR idol.

Let’s say you x2 SR toep in MC you get 2 rolls until you win one and can not get another. Unlike SR two different items

So no 2X SR on idols does not mean you can win 2 idols unless you specifically set those rules up front with your RL or you form your own and HR 2

This analogy isn’t compatible because they’re two separate items and you’re never getting to roll twice on the helm or the SR dagger. Idols are a hot commodity, getting to roll twice on everyone that drops until you get one drastically increases your chances when a lot of people SR one. I joined more random pugs for ZG in classic than I can count and I never saw double SR treated like how you’re purposing.

But if I SRd the dagger of doom x 2 I’d get to roll for the dagger twice right?

And let’s say I lost it but the second boss also dropped the dagger of doom… I’d be able to roll twice right?

Now change dagger of doom to idol. Does anything change?

That’s true… but those people also have another SR that the person who put 2 SR on idols has zero chance of getting.

But if you SR item #1 and SR item #2 it does mean you can win item #1 and 2…

Yet idols are treated differently… why?

How it’s supposed to work is you roll twice till you win one.

Then you have 1 roll till you win another, or the item runs out (there are none left).

IF you roll per item or top 2/3/4 whatever, Honestly, we roll them out 1 by 1.

Thank you. This makes the most sense to me. I was super confused as to why people were treating this item differently

From now on any ZG pug I join with SR the raid leader will have to agree to roll the Idols out 1 at a time or else I’ll be skipping those raids
