Clan Battlehammer's 10th Anniversary

The dimly lit audience chamber of Blackrock Mountain cast long shadows for the stout group of dwarves assembled. A large stone table sat before Bruenor with his assembled generals and longbeards, each with a giant flagon of dwarven ale before them.

King Bruenor, stood at head of the table, and eyed each one of them, nodding in approval and sharing a moment moment of remembrance.

After a long drawn-out pause, Bruenor exclaimed with a wide smile: "By Moradin’s beard! “We have done it… what nobody had thought possible.”

Arnidan ventured a guess: “Countless Alterac Valley victories in our name?”
Darkale spat with his characteristic no-nonsense attitude, boldly claiming: “See the rise and fall of an empire?” followed by his familiar cackle.
Ema Ironbraid patiently offered her own viewpoint: “Maintainin’ an army o’ dwarves?”

The king looks around, examining the strongest of the clan, his age-old companions in victory “No my dwarven brothers and sister… all remarkable achievements in their own rights, but I speak of another achievement… one I have even doubted meself. We have remained true to our battle cry o’ ‘Long Live Clan Battlehammer!’ Today marks the 10th year of fighting together under the standard of crossed hammers and I move t’ celebrate it with both friend an’ foe.”

That last part raised more than a few busy eyebrows.
“It may be a lot to ask fer some o’ ya, but a we must also recognize our foes as contributing to our longevity. Without an enemy to call upon, could we really continue as a warring clan, to engage in the epic of struggles offense and defense without someone to fight against? I think not, and we must salute those who have challenged us.”

Gauging the reactions of his fellow kin, Bruenor continued.

“Equally, we salute our allies who we have formed strong bonds… those tha’ we ‘ave had joint adventures and raids, defense of the valley, defense of Ironforge, an’ nay to forget the epic battle of Blackrock Mountain.”

Nods of understanding and cheers erupted in agreement as the dwarves raised their mugs.

“Battlehammers… join meh in a toast to you all, as I am indebted to you fer your loyalty and committment t’ yer King. We could never would 'ave reach this day without you. Yer contributions and sacrifice. Share a drink with meh in yer honor.”

Flagons were raised and gulped down among hoots and hollers… wide grins on foam ridden beards of what was to come.

“So… call in th’ couriers, take these words t’ pen an’ post them in th’ cities an’ taverns.”

Bruenor cleared his throat, and his message was quickly penned down by the guild’s long-standing storyteller, Praggus. Once it was done, the old dwarven priest blew on parchment to dry the ink.

The dwarves gathered around Praggus, and the king’s words read:

I wish I could make it, you all did so much for my old guild in the past, and have always enjoyed fighting next to you all.

"Back when Alvarix ran shadows of lordaeron, I believe the original members had been CBH! They were some of the coolest people, and then we got to fight yall so often. You all really made me enjoy WPVP. Not sure if these people are still with you all but Rhusty, Lighthouse, Bruenor, were people I use to enjoy seeing when I was Horde, and always knew a fight with CBH would be fun.

Then when I went alliance and seen how you all lined up before your weekly CTA nights, and how organized yall were, I was amazed. Always too big of a guild for my liking so never tried to join, but always was impressed. "

raises a sulfron slammer May you all have another 10 years together.

reads what he wrote ugh pretend I wrote that drunk or something. It reads terrible.

The wind blew at a furious pace, threatening to steal away his woolen cape, but Mifuné Mountainbreaker had been hard at work on his little project for days. Sweat beaded his age-old brow, a brow that had seen fighting since the Second Great War. His hands were tired, chiselling runes into a crude stone tablet, with one finger bleeding where he had accidentally struck himself while trying to remember stories.

Stories and names. Since his time entering the clan, Mifuné had spent a lot of time sitting by campfires and talking to longbeards, generals, heralds, gutbusters as well as old hammers. Old dwarves would smile, and regale him with tales of old comrades that they had fought beside. Clansmen that they had shared ale with, lifted axe and hammer with, and ridden besides into glorious victory. But more importantly, dwarves that they had repeatedly died besides, year after year: whether in the snowy fields of Alterac Valley, the gloomy halls of Undercity, the high cliffs of Thunderbluff, or the brown earth of Orgrimmar. Whether nights ended in victories or losses, dwarves had fought together and died together, and that age-old tradition had lived on.

His stonework had begun to take its final shape, and Mifuné recalled his own time in the clan. Every CTA night, whether fighting with 40 dwarves on busier nights or 8-10 dwarves on nights less so, he would always think about dwarves that had been here long ago, lined up on the very stone that he occupied, years and years ago. Ghostly parades of dwarven shoes, ram hooves and griffin talons marching across time, across hundreds of CTAs.

His project complete, Mifuné dusted the snow off himself, and surveyed his work with some pride. He packed his tools away, and walked down the hill from Ironforge’s gate. Behind him the tablet stood, stark stone against the falling snow.

An Ironforge guard passed by, and begun to read the names on the list:

The guard found that there was ample space left after the final name. He ran down the hill, found the stonewright, and inquired about what the space was for. There will beh many more dwarven champions with their own stories, an’ someday…another dwarf will come tah add their names tah th’ list.”

Going to bump this and say congratulations to my favorite Alliance guild. I need to hop on my Dwarf and rejoin you guys at some point. Any plans for a WoW Classic CBH guild ?

A lot of Cbh members are looking forward to classic and the pristine wpvp it will bring. Bru has mentioned time and again that we will be bringing cbh into classic, although the seriousness of wpvp will have to be determined.

CBH is hands down one of the best guilds ED has had. I’m happy to see you guys around keeping the RP alive. Great job and congratulations on 10 incredible years.
