I was wondering if raids on cities like Stormwind or Orgrimmar are still a thing. I know and recall it being a thing a decade-plus ago and I missed being part of those haha. If so, what pvp servers are those happening on these days?

For the Horde/alliance! Used to be really fun. You got a bear mount for killing all the city kings.
I don’t think I’ve seen a run since WoTLK sadly.

I think it still is, PvP communities sometimes would do city raids. During Shadowlands the community I am with (which was very active then) raided Orgrimmar pretty often and it was fun!

Maybe not raids, but you definitely still get the occasional solo dude who wrecks half the city.
Was sitting pretty on my monk waiting for a TW que last week when I was suddenly dead.

I’ve been known to “raid” Org by myself if I’m bored enough. But my server cluster also isn’t known for pvp’ers, so it can take a long time before a single level 80 shows up to try and stop me.

They do still happen. I saw one or two groups forming in the premade group finder this week.
You’ll probably get more of them happening in the new patch when more people come back for it.
They will be happening today as well.

Hahaha yes, I do this on both my Horde and Alliance toons hitting both Stormwind and Orgrimmar. Usually the city is quite peaceful and people in there don’t flag for PvP so you can just solo steamroll through and catch some flagged stragglers offguard and wreck em.

see, my thing was, I was like level 29 or something because I was also going to mix in some questing but was just gonna wait till after the final dungeon to do it.
So it wasn’t that I was caught off guard so much as I was queing, then I caught some decease known as “barely tapped” and died.
