Having trouble connecting rooms and I’m not sure if I’m missing something. Trying to do a circular layout, 4 rooms that all connect and I can just run in a circle through them all. I cant get the 4th room and 1st room to spawn a doorway between the two. Seems any room I place only gets a doorway to the room I’m connecting it from, can’t create a doorway between 2 back to back rooms.
I did it once with either small rooms or hallways, but I don’t think there’s a way to attach four block rooms as you are trying to do. Might need a closet between some of them.
I’ve been able to do this in experiments with combinations of T and L and Cross rooms, or 8 Square Tiny rooms (a 3x3 block but with the center block left out).
Yeah, I did a simple little thing with the L shape pieces in the beta and liked having the connecting rooms.
Can’t post images, but it’s the T shaped room in this.

If I attach it to the “main” room on the left, I get the doorway there. If I attach to the octagonal, I get the door there. I can’t seem to get a door in both though.
I did it with a hallway to start with and a ring of tiny rooms, with a tiny room empty space in the middle. In the layout designer it doesn’t indicate they are connected but it makes a full loop in edit mode.
The t-shaped room does not have a connector on the long side. You will never get a door there. You would have to do this with a tiny square and a closet (as you did above), or change the above to a t-shape (and invert the lower) so they match.
I really hope they work on and open up the ability to put doorways in multiple places in this room, not just in the center. I’m also baffled by some of them that don’t have rooms on the sides, like the hallway and in the open wall spaces in the stairwells. Hopefully it’s something they are working on.
Yeah, even with the doors only on center points, there are still two places on the hallway, one place on the T, and two places on the L that should get door options.
You know what I wish we could do, would be to take like the big daylight rooms or the nighttime rooms and have multiple access points to basically turn it into a courtyard, and have 3 other points of egress, perhaps to room groups like kitchen and dining, living areas, and bedrooms?
I haven’t tried it on the beta yet. I’m really tempted to tear down one of my houses and see, can you make the daylight room the main room off the foyer entry?
(We really need to be able to move that entry point, but I’m afraid it’s the only static thing in the instance)
Yeah, the big “sky” rooms absolutely need multiple points of attachment.

Unfortunately, there is only one access point for the daylight room
. Also, beta still has those silly bugs when trying to place items and giving that error. Save yourself the headache ![]()
Cheers!
Would be a great QoL if you could click one of the attachment dots and add a door instead of a room. That pic I included has the T room connected to the Square Room (small), and a visible dot at the top. I have added the room from the Octagon room and have an “attachment dot” connected to the small square room, so Im pretty sure they line up. Just cant get that second doorway, no matter how i do it. Ive tried offsetting that T room and adding a closet/hallway, but no second door.
The dot you’re seeing at the top is from the octagon room. There is no attachment point there for the T room. The rooms can’t be connected that way.
I tried to annotate your image to show others (think I got the one that works and the one that doesn’t… if a node is showing (top) it doesn’t let you put a door there, even though it’s “connected” like the left-side with no node showing. Seems like a short-coming of the system as it’s only looking for one connection point when placing a room, not all possible connections points, so I’d submit a Bug Report in that forum section (or in-game).
That spot on the T is one of the places where a door needs to be an option.
Also, door locations need a third option – no door.
I can attach the T room to the octagon and it looks the exact same, but with no option to put a door through to the small square, Or I attach to the small square and no option to put a door to the Octagon room. Either way, it all looks the same no matter which room I connect to. The picture I provided has the T attached to the small square. Big thanks to Vortimer for posting it for me!
As noted the big issue in that picture is that the T room has no attachment point on the long side.
The gold dot is coming from the octagon, not the T.
In that pic, the room is already placed. there is already a doorway on the long side. I can also rotate the T room and orient any way, using either room as a connection point.
Huh… I wonder if shoving it in alongside the Octagon forced the door… there’s not supposed to be an attachment point on the long side of the T.
(There should be, but there isn’t if you look in most attempts to add one.)
