So like everyone of you I watched the cinematic for shadowlands. And when I was done I felt let down. Took me a while to figure out why.
Then it came to me, it had nothing to do with the upcoming expansion or concept or any of that. It was how handily sylvanas dominated bolvar.
There is a lot of arguments on she has death behind her and is ultra sultanas right now. And that’s fine and there is the argument bolvar is considerably weaker then arthas. Also fine.
My disappointment came in the form of someone who has played blizzard games since WCIII, and watching arthas cull stratholme, and KT do his thing and ultimately watch arthas ascend the frozen throne to put on arguable the single most iconic item in Warcraft.
And years later do this massive expansion where we gain a foothold on northrend and over 18 months and coming close over and over we finally got him. And we got the speech of there will always be a liche king. And it was so good and satisfying.
And now…I watch years of loving the lore and story, shredded in minutes. She dominates what most of us still see as the most powerful artifact in Azeroth. And then proceeds to rip it in half.
Felt really weak to me.
But that’s just my opinion, still gonna play the expansion cause I think it looks good
Sylvanas beat Bolvar easily because she had a power up and Bolvar LK is not the same as Arthas LK.
The sooner you accept this, the better.

She beat Bovar because she tricked him. How is that hard to understand? Bolvar didn’t know the arrows were enchanted with magical chains lol. Yall are wild.
