Name one encounter designed around dual spec.
Trust me, I feel the same way. I can only hope that either Blizzard decides to accommodate everybody, or that you donât get what you want.
Bro changing spec has literally always required being in a rested area, even in the most modern version of WoW outside buying consumables
There are zero, he is clutching his pearls over a non-issue
Ironically the only fight that really would have benefited from dual spec was vanilla 4 horsemen.
âI donât understand the issue, therefore there is no issueâ
I just love the argument that dual spec with trivialize raids.
Like dude, first of all they arenât hard to begin with, second it is unlikely anyone cares enough to swap specs for one encounter, and thirdly, dual spec has always required going to a rested area to change
All you have to do is name one encounter ever since dual spec was released that was designed specifically with dual spec in mind and otherwise would have been different.
There is no issue, You really think people are gonna say oh man this boss is 1.4/10 in difficulty. Hey John can you hearth to town and dual spec over to an extra healer, we will run back to the start of the raid to summon you back.
I believe dual spec would greatly change the speed and leveling experience for dungeon groups. If the hybrid specs just need to click a button, the chances they rotate to that tank or healer roll is much higher.
You shouldnât make changes to the game because you canât think of a reason not to.
This whole âwhy not add it, how is it harmful, name ONE encounter that was designed around itâ is IRRELEVENT.
Adding something simply because itâs convenient is NOT a good reason to add it. I can think of plenty of things to add to the game that would make it much more convenient but would in turn ruin the game.
Of course chronoboons were well-received: they were well-received for the same reason dual spec would be well-received. Blizzard is solving YOUR problem, the ones that YOU create by mindlessly following the meta of being 100% optimized for every activity, whenever you want it. It frees you from the consequences of your decisions.
âI play a class, not a specâ WHO CARES??? What, you want a dual class feature, too? Hell, why not change your class to whatever you want at any time? After all, you woke up this morning and felt like Shaman healing today, not a priest.
If you want to play multiple classes and multiple roles across multiple activities in the span of one day, level some characters and do that. If you arenât willing to put in the time to achieve that goal, then stop complaining. WoW is a game of time and if you donât want to put in the time to get something, you donât get it.
Chronoboon was dumb. WBâs broke the game in many ways. Instead of removing them they just made them more convenient.
Chronoboons makes me think that the devs thought the only issue was logging to maintain buffs. WBâs also trivialized content and severely distorted class balance to where we ended up with half the raid being warriors.
Dumb example to use if youâre asking for DS. But I guess if you want DS Iâm not surprised at all that you love chronoboon.
Uh this is the same game where people would willingly raid log their characters for the entire week just to have world buffs. Youâre seriously trying to tell me they wonât dual spec mid raid cause it takes all of 2 minutes? Are we even playing the same game?
History actually shows this not to really be the case. People donât play tanks and healers either because they donât enjoy it or they donât want the responsibility.
One of the big selling points of the spec swap stuff is that it would help the tank shortage. Even after it was added they still were adding systems to try and bribe people to do it.
Dual spec will not suddenly create a boom of tanks. Those not doing it will mostly use it for either PvP or a second DPS build.
Disabling world buffs in raids would have been a better solution.
Because as it stands now, itâs 100g every time you want to play arena.
Thatâs strange, I can log in to the character I leveled specifically to do arena and play as much arena as I want, whenever I want, for no cost at all.
Retail is not tbc, and a problem that reduces player interaction should have serious attempts at resolution. Player made issues are fixed in games all day everyday. Thats if blizzard wants longevity, which it wouldnât appear is the case.
Name a downside.
Gnomes can get it.
How did you do that at level 20?
Trust me there were purists that somehow hated the chronoboons too Iâm sure
Well, I thought they should have instead just gotten rid of world buffs, which to me were an obvious and completely broken exploit. But that would have had to have been done very early, before world buffs became too entrenched. Before long, the whole game evolved to basically revolve around the buffs, and it was too late to make a correction.
And by the time they introduced the chronoboon, the game was just about done and everyone was already preparing to move on to TBC, so it was like, who cares at this point?
