Can not complete quest. Clicking button in the circle does not progress the quest.

I currently have the same problem. Working on figuring something out. Currently ran all the way back to portal, zoned out and zoned back in. The Piercing Presence keeps talking to me. But nothing else happens.
Chromie and Eternus start to speak when I enter near them, but nothing occurs after that. and no amount of clicking the interactive button does anything.

You need to use the button next to quest in the quest tracker, not the one in the middle of the screen.

This is the correct answer. I was able to complete the quest after doing this.

Ah, another of those lovely inconsistent UI behavior issues where Blizzard gives you 2-4 options for things that can be clicked to activate stuff (bags, interact, extra action button, quest log button, possibly more) but only one of those actually works.
