Chromie Time is Broken in Pre-Patch

Apparently Blizz forgot to change Chromie Time during this update, since it still only works for levels 10-60. As stated in the patch notes, it’s supposed to scale from 10-70 starting with the pre-patch, and this is how it behaves on the Beta and the PTR. I hope this gets fixed soon, because otherwise leveling alts will be considerably more difficult.

Probably not the highest priority at this point.

It’s not our problem that Blizz pushed a build before it was ready. If it’s stated in the patch notes and isn’t working, it should be equally important as everything else.

Would you rather they held it up because of Chromie Time? My guess, if they announced that we would be seeing all sorts of “Why is it taking so long?”.

And if they told us, “You held it up for WHAT !!!???”.

Yes, I would. The vast majority of the pre-patch is currently working against players. I’d much rather they delayed it by a week or more, that way the game is in a playable state and all of the listed features are working as intended on launch.

Interesting that players can’t use Chromie Time from 60-70 when they rescaled gear and content from 1-70 for Chromie Time (e.g. flattened the curves and effectively nerfed player power in SL and even BfA content).

Well it’s SUPPOSED to be working, they just forgot to flip the switch and make it scale up to 70.

I hadn’t noticed it working against me. I’ve been pretty busy deciding which alts to use, updating talent trees and doing the opening quest.

Oh, glad to hear you haven’t encountered any problems. I’m sure that means everything is working perfectly fine. Amazing input.

Eh, Dragonflight is the leveling experience for post level 10’s now, like how BfA was beforehand.

Idk if anyone is gonna be choosing Chromie Time for the time being, it’s likely a minority.

DF is probably just faster overall, regarding leveling speed.

Not excusing it being broken, but what an earlier poster said, it’s probably not the highest priority right now.

Dragonflight is pretty slow, so nobody who wants to level quickly would ever choose to level there.

Actually I did notice an anomaly. But the point is there are other things go do while working around the problems.

I’d still choose WoD personally, especially now that you can Skyride there.

WoD was always insanely fast, thanks to those bonus quest things on the map.

WoD is fast, but a combination of that + Cata Revamp zones such as Silverpine, Hillsbrad, Loch Modan etc is still faster.

Yes - would love if they fixed this. I was hoping to level some alts this week.

Considering the pre-patch events haven’t started and the only thing to do is level alts, it would be nice if this was working. DF works fine, but I use the first bit of pre-patch to top up my alts and I enjoy spreading the time across various expansions. DF is near the bottom of my list of expansions I want to level at the moment. Hopefully its an easy fix and is resolved soon.

This is honestly pathetic, 10.1.5 we were supposed to get chromie time bumped up to 61, it arrived DoA on patch day and was NEVER fixed. So, the odds of this getting fixed? I mean…maybe? I wouldn’t hold my breath.

While I was also annoyed by the Level 61 Chromie Time thing never being addressed, this is a lot more impactful. Chromie Time not functioning correctly for an entire 10 levels is pretty obvious, it will get fixed eventually once Blizz is done putting out fires.

Still not working after the update today. Maybe it isn’t coming until launch day. Back to DF I guess.

Do we know absolutely that it was supposed to be working for 60-70 as of last tuesday? Or could it be that they’re going to wait until people can level to 80.

Just a thought.
