Chromie Time Bug - The War Within

Chromie not offering options to change Timewalking Campaign after completing The War Within initial quest to go to Silithus and using the skip to Dornogal. Workaround allegedly to abandon the initial quest and gain a 10-15 second window to change the Timewalking Campaign. If you have completed the quest, this is not an option and Chromie still does not offer options to change the Campaign.

For reference, character is alliance dracthyr warrior experience locked at 69 and I have been able to switch Timewalking Campaign at this level prior to getting the initial TWW quest to go to Silithus and completing the skip to Dornogal.

I appreciate your response…However, this article you linked was updated after I opened a ticket with a GM. They seem to indicate in their response it should work under level 70(see below in quotes) and I was able to shift between Cataclysm chromie time and Outland while at 69 until I received the initial TWW quest and completed it. There are reports from others on the forums of being able to lock yourself at 69 and be able to shift between as well. This is extremely frustrating to those of us who spend time creating characters to enjoy using chromie time only to get locked out of it due to changes made in the background that no one seems to know about or be told about. I spent time researching the level I could get to max and still use Chromie time. That article was either outdated at the time or I was unable to find it at all, or I would have never attempted to lock myself at 69…

"Allow me to introduce myself, I am Game Master ______ and I am here to provide further assistance. First off, thank you for reaching out to us. I comprehend you are presenting difficulties with Chromie Time as has stopped working despite being less than level 70 . I apologize since I understand this unfortunate event might have affected your gaming experience, however I will provide more information on the matter.

Regarding this case I wanted to thank you for submitting the bug report and doing the troubleshooting steps previously provided. It is important to point out that even though bug reports might not be always answered they are checked by the proper team so the Developers can find improvement opportunities for the game and that way help you and the community as well. Although I understand your feelings towards this situation, please rest assure that this is being reviewed by our Dev Team and once there is a proper resolution, they will post it in the forums. "

I’m aware. This article was also updated some time after I linked the other one, as when I linked the previous one, this one was still indicating chromie time ended at level 70.

I don’t know when exactly the change was made or why it was made, but the updated support articles indicate it’s not a bug and so isn’t something that QA will be able to do anything about. I get that undocumented changes like this can be frustrating, but your best bet to see this changed back is probably making a post about it in general discussion or probably the dungeons/raids subforum.

A little necro but this has been a thing since chromie time was introduced, except for different levels. Swapping different xpac times was no longer available once you hit 2 seperate criteria. 1; you are 1 or 2 lv’s below previous cap and you have completed the intro to the new xpac. Or 2; You are at the previous lv cap, in which case all you can do is exit chromie time, which will occur the next time you reach org/sw or you hit 1 lv above previous cap in which you’ll be teleported on a timer.

Personally once I hit 2 lv’s below previous cap and got given the intro quest to the new xpac, I could no longer enter chromie time at all if I had exited it. So if it is a bug, it has been a bug since chromie time began and is pretty much a feature of it at this point.
