Chromie Time and choices? I feel like they overly complicated the leveling experience. Have they (Devs) discussed anything about changing this system eventually or will it always feel like most xpacks will just be skipped over, I personally feel IT CAN be a option but the general path should follow each xpack for new players or even veteran honestly.
I use to love leveling in wow during Wotlk - WoD Era but than something happened. I don’t even understand how to do certain older dungeon types.
Is it something I don’t understand or is it plain and simple a overly complicated system for just leveling a character? How do I know what path is best or should be chosen?
I’m not sure if I even understand, or can even answer your question. Sorry
I never enjoy “Time future / pass” It just confuses me.
Like If I make a new character on wrath classic I make a character and start from a leveling zone, do the dungeons and quests in azeroth till 58 and move into TBC in till I can than go to northrend It’s what I’ve always understood and it worked without confusion.
But now in retail it’s like I make a level 1, hit level 10? Go to TBC and at 15 go to northend and after that I go back to Azeroth for Cata quests at 20? Than head to Mop at 25? etc etc
Fair I suppose, however it use to work from what I remember but this entire level squish really shook the foundations of the games leveling. As a older player this is my opinion at least.
Yeah that’s interesting to me. So I make a Horde or Alliance and start right into x xpack and do it till I’m ready to move into the most concurrent xpack right?
off the top of your head do you happen to know the leveling bracket for each zone and xpack now? Like I stated is it sort of do a few levels in each xpack?
Dragonflight will be added into the Chromie Time system when The War within releases. This was their best answer to the ever-increasing levels; squish the maximum level back down then give players the choice of what expansion(s) they want to level in.
Outside of your chosen Chromie Time, expansion zones scale up to a set maximum level. I believe Vanilla, The Burning Crusade, and Wrath of the Lich King all cap at level 30, Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria at 35, Warlords of Draenor and Legion at 40, Battle for Azeroth at 45, and Shadowlands at 50 - but don’t quote me on those.
EDIT: I think this graphic is accurate, though made before Dragonflight.
Different zones have different level brackets. Vanilla starts at different levels, but ends at 30. Same with BC and Wrath. Cata is 30-35. Pandaria ends at 35. Warlords ends at 40. Legion ends at 44. BfA ends at 60. SL is 50-60.
You can mouse over the zones to see their level brackets.
I have always thought there needs to be a 1-Max single player leveling option that runs you through a quest chain of every story beat you need to know. No having to choose xpacs, all the beats are in the quest chain.
