WoW could use some of the ‘positive testosterone’ Metzen brings. It’s been good, but missing a certain element to it.

I’m not sure why people think Chris Metzen is going to save the game, the year is 2023, not 2007. You will never be as content with WoW as you were when you were young. It needs to develop a new identity.

There’s definitely something to be said for changing with the times, but there’s a pretty common thread out there that DF took things a tad too far in the group therapy direction.

I think Metzan can help balance that a little bit.

chris was still on wow for legion , arguably the best expansion since wrath and fairly recent too.

That’s the thing, Legion would not work in 2024 (also it was largely designed as Tom Chilton’s last hurrah as game director) a live service game depends on new voices to direct fresh content.

I see no reason to believe this. What makes you say Legion wouldn’t work right now, had it not been done before?

I see a lot of “we need new and fresh!” but I’ve also seen a fair amount of criticism over the storytelling methods of those new, fresh folks.

Most folks laud Metzen for his storytelling. AP grind is systems stuff, which isn’t part of what he does.

chris metzen was there since day 1 of warcraft. i dont trust anyone else more than him story wise

Ehhhhhh… it got pretty dumb after a while.

I’ve seen plenty of people wanting something like it back just to make each thing we do feel like it directly contributes to player power, but I’m not sure that’s the right way to go. That’s basically what flightstones are now.
