The price tag attached for his “advisory” role would not be worth it, willing to bet hes making close to what he did at his old position off this in half the time.
You have no idea what the price tag is or how much marketing is worth. Blizzard is in desperation mode trying to get players to see them how they used to.
I would say this is worth quite a bit even if he doesn’t work a single hour for them.

You seem very sure about the particulars of his role and what exactly it will entail. That’s based on what, exactly? Aside from sugarplum dreams of clunky belts and big boots.

In all reality, he was never off the “pay roll” so to speak.
So am I, given my post much further up. That doesn’t mean they’re paying the guy to drink beer in the shower and call in about how he thinks Thrall should be crucified to forgive Azeroth for its sins.

If we ever go back to faction conflict, I would like to see them reshuffle the deck some.
I could see the cows deciding they had more in common with Night Elves than the Forsaken.
Heck, I would like to see them open up some of the races to letting them pick sides.
Goblins that see more profit in selling to the Alliance.
Worgen who are more savage and feel more at home with the more monstrous Horde.
Blood elves who have decided to reunite with their High Elf family.
Basically any race that is done being associated with the Forsaken.

For the love of christ, you’d think in this day and age people would at least get an entry level understanding of things with Google.
“Advisor” to a creative director is essentially the same as an assistant, with the added benefit that the advisor’s experience or knowledge grants the advisor more value on their judgment calls.
I am under no illusion that Metzen will fix everything in WoW. That was very clear quite some time ago.

They aren’t orcs so this is likely false.
Also I don’t know why people think Chris will even have any significant impact. “Creative Advisor” sounds about as fluff a title as it can get. This reads a ton more like he’s giving them permissions to, once again, have his name and face as an “active” member of the company and game while not having any actual/direct leadership roles/activities.
Publicly dissing the current project isn’t a good way to get hired back.
