Choppy Frame-rate in epic BGs / huge battles

Title.

So its weird… no matter even if i put the graphivs allll the way on VERY LOW… i still get choppy framerate in large battles =(

i have a decent PC:
AMD 3900X CPU
RTX 2070 Super OC GPU
32 GB RAM

id like to get 100+ FPS stable at 1440p in huge battles.

what do i gotta do?

i get the same framerate on lowest settings as i do on max settings? what s up? does this just mean my cpu is 2 weak?

This may be something related to the server. As I’ve been having choppy play as well in epics and big fights. Especially when there’s lots of dense spell effects. Also world ping/lag is VERY bad lately.

Troubleshooting isn’t officially supported beyond 60fps, but I will mention that the CPU you’re using has a single-thread rating that falls on the slower side. WoW is incredibly CPU dependent.

thank you. what are some good CPUs that would be good for WoW? how do i tell which one has a good single thread rating?

You can check the value on a site like CPUbenchmark.

I’m sure the WoW subreddit has some recommendations for another CPU.

awesome! thanks! i think ill def be buying a new cpu then because iwant that super smooth gaming experience

If this suddenly started happening you may be in a group of people suffering performance loss in WoW after recent updates.

Aye. I wouldn’t spend money on a new CPU when there’s really nothing wrong with any Ryzen CPU for merely WoW. Especially not when people like myself are having massive FPS stutters and slowness all of a sudden, as of a couple days ago.
