I like to play underdog classes. For all of shadowlands i played a disc priest. They got reworked (made more simple) in dragonflight so i swapped to an arcane mage. Arcane mage got reworked for tww (made more simple) so im looking to try a new main. My eyes are set on rogue, specifically sub since its the spec Im most experienced with.
Im wondering what you guys thought about sub in tww? I also have a warlock level 70 that i was considering (affliction).
Ive got a mage, warlock, evoker, demon hunter, warrior, rogue and priest all level 70. Given that im looking for a spec/class that is unpopular and difficult to master, rogue came to mind first. What do you guys think based on my list of 70s and what im looking for, should I play rogue?
I find rogue very fun to play. I think you will enjoy it. Rogues are a class you have to learn and time things for best result. They have made some changes that makes things harder and some changes that are perplexing. There are a lot of complaints but about the class but no one to complain to. At this moment there are also a lot of bugs with the class. Will see if those bugs are in the final release. Please remember a lot of self healing got decreased across the board, this does include rogues. Sadly rogues didn’t have the best of self healing. Stealth can be an issue as blizzard isn’t convinced there is an issue with it atm. I do hope you have fun with the class i love. Happy Gaming

It’s almost spiteful feeling at this point. Seems as if someone inside the company has a vested hate for the class. Time to roll with the punches, I guess.
They apparently promoted the one guy who seemed to even half care. Good for him, glad that he’s moving up, but that left us with zero attention going to into the xpac when given the excuse of our recent “rework”. It’s a massive red flag for the state of things if your class gets ignored but Shamans get direct attention and communication, which just happened to us a few weeks ago.
The bugs, for the most part, will be in the release. They were active in PTR within the last 24 hours, and a lot of these are issues we’ve been seeing in the cycle for almost a year. As well as multi-year long term bugs that they are actively choosing to ignore at this point. They aren’t going to be able to fix in 24 hours most of the issues we’ve been reporting for literal months. As always, we will need to learn how to work around them and wait for them to maybe get addressed before S1 starts in a few weeks.
Doesn’t help that one of the better passive healing talents hasn’t ever functioned as intended, yet has been nerfed 2 times in the last as many months now. But, our defensive kit is one of the most flexible in the game. Used properly, we should be standing far longer than any other DPS in our groups for most encounters.
As always, just more things we need to find the work-around for, as they don’t care to fix bugs that are going on 4 years old. The class is super fun, but people definitely need to be aware of the mess they’re walking into with it, at least for the next few weeks.
Good luck to anyone else also going into the expansion with the class. It’s going to be a rough season 1.
