Choose your loot in the twisting corridors

You should be able to choose what you will get from the Twisting Corridors (Anima, Gear, Cosmetics or Soul Ash). Before getting in, you have to get a “key” from Ve’nari which will determine the kind of loot you are running for.

Lets say that you get the “Anima Collector” which, of course, will collect anima from all the enemies that you kill. It will also give you the option to turn “Lost Souls” into Anima. If you can’t finish the “run” you will lose 1/2 of what you collected.

If you want some gear you will need the “Anima Infusor” which will infuse a “blank Item” with power. It will give you the option to infuse Lost Souls into your item. This blank Item is a piece of gear previosly selected. It will be LVL 01 at the begining, and it will grow in power. At the 16th floor it should be around LVL 200, therefore those final floors are the really important ones. If you can’t finish the “run” you will get what you infused, lets say LVL 216.

If you want some mounts or transmogs you will need the “Anima Crystallizer” which will create an “Anima Crystal” that will be used as an opener (Didn’t want to say Key again) for some special kind of chests hidden in the corridors. It will also give you the option to absorb Lost Souls for your Anima Crystal. This Anima Crystal will grow and grow and will be consumed when used on a Chest. So you will have to decide between opening some small chests or a big one at the end, guarded by the final boss. The small ones could contain one piece of unique transmogs, therefore you will need several of them to complete a set; and the big one could contain mounts or pets.

Finally, if you want Soul Ash you will need the “Soul Ash Collector” which will work the same way than the “Anima Collector” does. It will give you the option to turn Lost Souls into Soul Ash. If you can’t finish the “run” you will loose 1/2 of what you collected.

At the end, even if you couldn’t finish the “run” you won’t feel like you just wasted your time, because you got some of what you wanted. Of course I wanted that 3000 Anima bunch, but this 1296 Anima bunch is great, and it’s way better than nothing. And it makes sence, all the Anima is in the Maw! Of course I wanted that LVL 233 Chest Plate, but this LVL 216 is nice. It’s OK I didn’t finish, finally I completed the most bad “axe” transmog.

Stop trying to make optional content into forced content. You don’t have to do Twisting Corridors if you don’t want to, if you don’t find the existing rewards compelling. Heck, Blizzard already came out and said at Blizzcon this weekend that all mounts will work in the Maw once again in 9.1, when they add the new zone to it.

Do Twisting Corridors if you find the rewards valuable, and don’t if you don’t. Same with normal Torghast, tbh, do it if you need the Soul Ash, don’t if you don’t.

Your proposal would make running Twisting Corridors absolutely mandatory, especially since you’re proposing having up through 233 gear available through it.

I also had to laugh at this bit:

Have you even done Twisting Corridors? The bosses are the only thing that block runs there. So in the vast majority of cases, the only floors you would fail to complete would be 6, 12, or 18, and most of those would be at 18. Your proposal would make the itemlevel of the reward entirely useless until around level 14-15 even with incredibly under-leveled toons. Basically, you’re saying, if you fail on 6 or 12, you get an item that would be lower itemlevel than level 50 booster gear, and if you fail at 18, you still get a “consolation prize” of gear literally better than 8/10 heroic Nathria loot.

Hard. No. Every aspect of this proposal is a dumpster fire.

I’m fine if they change TC to give either an absolute boat ton of anima, valor, AND weekly soul ash.

But adding directly gear to it, will make it mandatory content along side M+ PVP and raiding next patch. The only way they add gear to it is if it’s an alternative at the item level cap of M +15 direct dungeon drops, but even that has massive issues because it’s hilariously imbalanced and certain specs are just way stronger than others allowing it to be a massively better time investment in early weeks than other specs/classes.

A weekly TC run being an ALTERNITIVE to other weekly chores, 100% for it though.

Are y’all the same folks that wanted gear added to the mage tower? TC is in the exact same vein. It’s difficult but entirely optional content with only cosmetic rewards and no player power benefit. Do it if you like the rewards, don’t if you don’t. You don’t have to do TC! Stop treating it like it’s mandatory content that simply isn’t rewarding enough.

Like, I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing normal Torghast have more rewards, given that it’s largely useless once you’ve got the legendaries you care about. It even makes lore sense for it to reward souls and anima (and since Valor can come from callings in 9.0.5, it could easily reward Valor as well. I’m sure the covenants think better of us as we continue to storm the halls of Torghast and free more souls from the Jailer’s grasp).

But Twisting Corridors isn’t normal Torghast. It exists specifically as a entirely optional “challenge mode” for peeps that enjoy that type of thing, with some cosmetic rewards to tokenize that effort. That’s it. It’s not there for the rewards, it’s there for people that enjoy running Torghast and want to dial it to 11.

I really wish there was more in TC. I finished it in the first week and there’s no reason to EVER go back there on ANY character.

Was expecting/hoping for long term content and got some of the shortest used content in the game.

I’m also fully for this as well.

I don’t think TC is that difficult, or at least is anywhere near the same degree that the mage tower is. I just find it a shame that you can do a lot of fun cool stuff in there, but it becomes an area that’s not used after you get the mount.

It’s why I’m so for it being AS OPPOSED TO instead of ALONGSIDE. Which, when reffering to blizzard systems needs explicitly called out. For me though, it’s a little bit more time just for example.

If you were to get (and these are numbers out of thin air) 1000 soul ash for a layer 12 Torgast in S2, 250 anima, and 500 stygia to get legacy rewards, then a layer 12 would give you the equivalent reward for those two separate layer 12 runs AS OPPOSED to instead of along side.

I mean, I wouldn’t say no to TC being able to act as a functional replacement for doing the other two wings during a week. One run would reward the same Soul Ash (and any other rewards they ideally add to the other wings) as completing the other two wings on that layer for the week, and would be on the same cap. So you could run the other two wings, or you could run TC once, your choice.

I just see no reason to make it something you need to do in addition to the other wings.

Using TC for any normal reward would be bad. There are already calls to nerf it. If people could get non-cosmetic rewards, then there would be an explosion of demands.

Normal Torghast would be better for getting gear rewards. However, asking for it to be at M0 would be pushing it. At the level you want, it would be extremely bad as, once again, a demand for it to be easier.

I am one who would like to be able to use phantasma to buy gear. But I want to use it as a replacement for dungeons that I can do solo. I do not want it to be a replacement for raids or high mythics.

Actually, when I think about it, the best ilevel to use would be the same one you can get from world quests. Then it is not just a quicker power gearing. You have to do the covenant campaign to get the nicer stuff.
