As a priest I ran sm gy and the lib a couple times and the armory once yesterday. I was lucky enough to get illusionary rod as well as hypnotic blade and orb of the forgotten seer. I cant remember if the + to spell damage and healing outweighs the loss of stats. Is it dependent on if you are DPSing or healing? People seem to be more jazzed about illusionary rod.
haven’t looked into priests, but i know for holy paladin -> healing power = crit > int > mp5 > spirit
Use whichever one you get. I’d prefer the staff because you don’t need an offhand to group with it. You don’t want the off hand from the quest reward because you’d be passing up the sword that vendors for close to 2g.
wow didnt realize that, so I want to take the sword from that quest. Also I have both thats why I am asking
If you want money. Compare their vendor prices. The sword is highest by a landslide. But if you have the library dagger, not staff, then you may be inclined to take the off hand since you’ll always use it. My mage was fortune enough to get the staff, meaning I can vendor the sword. The staff also vendors for more than the dagger, meaning a bigger return after you replace it later on.
See what I am saying is I already have both options but I am not sure which one is better. I have the dagger and orb and the staff already.
Are you on a PvE server or a PvP server? With the possible exception of the latter, I can’t see taking the Illusionary Rod over the dagger + off-hand. The extra stam can come in handy when grinding in the world.

Ok… it’s personal preference. My personal preference has always been sta and int over spell power while leveling.
The MH/OH are better and will last until either the staff from ZF or the MH/OH from BRD.
