Chimaera Froststorm Breath

Just wondering if I’m supposed to macro this pet spell into one of my abilities? It’s a channeling ability for the pet so was just wondering.
Maybe multishot?

#showtooltip Multi-Shot
/cast Froststorm Breath
/cast Multi-Shot

No, don’t use it at all. It stops your pet’s basic and bite attacks while channeling so they lose the damage from Beast Cleave (triggered by Multi-Shot), and Beast Cleave does better damage than FrostStorm Breath.

Oh okay, thanks @morobir. That’s good to know and sad at the same time. Such a cool looking spell they channel.

Same thing applies to the Worm’s Burrow Attack.

One side effect of the Worm’s burrow attack that I thought might be situationally useful is that the worm is unattackable when it’s burrowing. There might be a creative use or two you could think up for that. (Damning with faint praise) I’ve never actually found a situation where I thought to myself, “If only I had my Worm with me right now!”

I know, it is sad. I remember when they came out in Wrath both Froststorm Breath and Burrow Attack were actually useful and AoE dps increases, but they just let them languish since then.

:frowning: , I wonder if they(Blizzard) are even aware of this.

Not a Blizzard employee, but speaking as a software engineer, there are an immense number of bugs, annoyances, and things we want to fix in our software that are simply too low priority, and very well may never get fixed display because something else is always more important.

These pet abilities very well may fall into that category. They clearly don’t want them to be substantially powerful, else those pets become the only option in AoE fights. And they aren’t really hurting anything right now, except possibly serving as a noob trap. So w/e, “we’ll get to them when we have a chance”. Unfortunately simply the nature of software development, to an extent.

I work in IT as well and I totally know where you’re coming from, QOL issues aren’t always high on the priority list.

I see you in the forums a lot and always see great info, kudos to you <3!

I actually did manage to convince management to set aside every Friday afternoon as “20% time” (not really 20% of the work week, but hey, foot in the door), named after the system at Google. Basically, all of the engineers on our team are permitted to work on anything they want during that time, anything they think could help the company. We’ve had some really great PRs come out of that time, and it’s allowed us to at least nibble at some of the more irritating, but non-pressing, QOL things (like improving log output and adding things that make debugging and supporting users a lot easier).

I honestly think every software company should do this. Most software companies, at least in my experience, the engineers are if anything more devoted to the success and quality of the software than anyone else. Let them loose, give them some time to do what they think will help the most, and you can get some really great stuff.
